Totally agree. She was one of the most talented singers. I had all of her albums. She could hit a high pitch without a break. Just listen to “where the boys are.” God bless her. In this video, she lost her voice. With her years of voice training, she should have been able to retain some of her vocal cords. However, given her tulmoutous life experience might have set her back years. I wish Connie good luck and good health. Still like her a lot. She is a survivor.

I met Connie in the late 50’s I was a child she was beautiful signing records in a store my Dad was her police escort he helped her in and out of the store she was scared all the people, scared her as was her first time doing this so she asked my mom and dad, if he would protect her and he did! she was a young woman then. I was around during her big days as a singer and didn't care at all for her music. It is only now, thanks to KZbin, that I hear what an amazing voice she had. Her duet with Andy Williams was one of the best things I have ever heard. So, lucky me, to finally see the light.

For anyone who may not be aware, this is not Connie Francis. This is Carol Connors, who was the lead singer for a group called the Teddy Bears that had a hit with the song "To Know Him is to Love Him" in the 50's.

Connie Francis was THE female singer of the early 60s. I dunno if this is true, or an urban myth, but it's a good story and actually pretty credible: When Connie appeared on American Bandstand, Dick Clark became quite smitten with her. When the couple began to look too serious, Connie's parents put an end to it. After all, SHE was #1 world wide...and Dick Clark was barely a Philadelphia DJ. Of course, by the 70s, "Dick Clark Production" was a tag on everything from The Grammy Awards to The Golden Globes.
