My late Uncle Walt got me hooked on Connie Francis when I was 9 or 10. He had several records of her. My favorite songs were Where the boys are,stupid cupid and it's only make believe by Conway Twitty. My was a good man. He wanted us kids to know about all kinds of music. Thank you Uncle Walt. There was a lot of talk about Judy Garland but I think her story - and her looks - has strong parallels with Britney Spears, the huge success, the controlling father who arguably saved her life but also controlled it too tightly and still does, the rebellion, the succession of doomed quickfire marriages, pressure from the industry to fit an 'American' ideal shape/size/looks, all leading to serious drug and mental health problems. Not to mention Bobby Darin, who strangely enough looks a lot like Justin Timberlake.
