Just terrific! Always loved Connie Francis and still do. Saw her in concert once in the '90s in San Francisco when I lived there. Unforgettable!

This makes me so very sad.. but that's Connie. Can't help but think she was telling her story.. ❤

Barich, Connie sang this at all her concerts. This is exactly her story and it is sad.

I remember this was the early 80's when she was just 'coming back' and I thought at times that her vibrato was a little wobbly but it improved as time moved on - I had recently gone to see her at Westbury just a few months prior to this appearance and the concert here and there was a little 'iffy' but reviewers still generally gave her good reviews. The eighties were an up-and-down time for her both vocally and personally but by the end of the decade her voice was in spectacular shape and Connie was in a better place emotionally. Thank you Kevin for sharing this rare glimpse of Connie at this time - this I believe was also the year she did the "Telethon for the Blind".

I remember seeing this live, Johhny. Connie's voice didn't return fully to the way it was in the 60s, but she still was a huge concert draw.

@@kph1955 Actually 85 & 90 concerts amazed how Connies voice was as great as ever, in 95 wasn't...
@kph19553 жыл бұрын
@@bradly2007 Unfortunately, her voice became a bit weaker over time and that's why she thought it better to retire. I'm glad we had her out there on the concert circuit for all those years.

This was 1981 she just got her voice back and it was weak from not singing for a long while, Connie went on to regain her voice and by 1989,1990,1991,1992 her voice was strong and full as it was in the late 60s...yes her voice changed as she got older and she retired, let's keep up the tragic Connie Francis image as some like to keep doing with Judy Garland...Connie has had a great career before and after 1974...that and other issues were a small part of her life, she is doing great now

@@joeyjosephs Years ago there were way more live videos from Connie's concerts on KZbin until they all disappeared. I remember one from 1992 (either Vegas or Atlantic City) and her voice was on fire. She was singing "The House I Live In" and it if you closed your eyes you would have thought it was 1960.

Wow! What a powerful and wonderfully melodic song, which must've been written just for Connie Francis. Gold disks must indeed adorn the walls of the Francis household, and as she sings here, she has done it all and has nothing left to prove. I've never heard her sing so magnificently, and I must get a copy of this superb song.👌🎤🎶🎻🎺🎸🎵

Hi David, She sang this song at all of her concerts. Very beautiful song. This was filmed when Connie was making her comeback.

@@kph1955 Thanks for the info. It is indeed a belter, very much in the Shirley Bassey mould, and no wonder it was a popular song in her live performances. It says it all! If she never sang another note, what would it matter; she has achieved the success that many singers can only dream of, and her fine contribution to popular culture is assured. I just pray that she remains with us for many more years to come, bless her! She has been through so much.
