Another album that should have been a hit. If only MGM promoted her albums from 1963-69, the possibilities of her continuing to record for MGM would have been endless. Look at Streisand...still on Columbia after 60 years.

Anthony, she should have left MGM and signed up with Reprise Records. Frank Sinatra offerered her a nice deal. Connie was good friends with Frank and his family and he would have treated her well!

@@kph1955 Connie was friends with Nancy Sinatra - I was unaware that Reprise offered Connie a record deal - that's interesting. When Connie's contract ended at MGM it seemed like her representatives weren't sure where she would go (label wise).

@@JohnnyGNV I’ve actually emailed Sirius Sinatra asking why they do not play Connie’s adult contemporary music. The station plays so many other artists other than Sinatra and Connie’s later recordings would definitely work on the channel. I emailed about a year ago. Still haven’t heard her on the channel. Oh well.

Another one of my opinions that will get me in trouble. I think this is the best song on the album. The rest of it is really not all that great and a lot of it I blame of Claus Ogerman, The arrangements are not the best. Of course, Connie is the best but this is not her best album

Jim, I agree. I love Connie's voice and interpretation, but I don't like the orchestral arrangements. I'm really not too fond of Bacharach's music either. According to Connie's autobiography, she did not want to record Bacharach's songs. She told him too. She told him his music was odd. But, because he became offended, I guess she gave in. Ogerman was not the right person to arrange this album. But I'm going to post all the songs because many people love this album.

@@kph1955 I always thought that the back of the album stating: Thank you for recording an album of our songs. You have always been one of our favorites, or something like that. I did not know she told them she did not want to record the album but still did. So many of their songs sound alike and I'm glad she titled the album Bacharach and David since most people attribute all the songs just to Bacharach. Oh well, it's her choice. Still love her to death

@@jimkreider9997 Hi Jim. It says: "Dear Connie, we are pleased and proud that you recorded an album of our songs. You have always been one of our favorites." Yes, she said in her first autobiography that she really didn't like their songs and told that to Burt Bacharach. I guess she felt terrible for what she said and decided to appease them by recording their songs. I never really liked Bacharach's music except for a few pieces. I always dreaded playing them on the piano.

@@jimkreider9997 The only thing I can think of is that she didn't like their music and she told them so. That's probably why. She felt bad that she told them she didn't like their music so, I guess she recorded the album probably because she felt bad.
