At our base arty. camp in Vietnam in "68" & "69" we had a tape of her hits which we played almost every night when not under an attack. After a few warm beers & her songs it was a little like being home again.

In Indonesia, my country, "Mr. Love" was probably the most famous song of Connie Francis. In the meantime, in The Philippines, "Wishing It Was You" seemed to be the most famous song.

One of many songs from my youth. I joined the Navy in 1959 and this was very popular the next year. The music you grow up with, stays with you for life. I met the love of my life the year I joined the Navy. We had a passionate fling that lasted through 1960. I was transferred to Hawaii and I didn't keep in touch with her and she married someone else. I thought life was like a merry-go-round. I would go around again and get a do over. Nope! Doesn't work that way so I passed up that special one and now live with my regrets.
