Mick David makes players like Drai and Hyman look better than they are. Barkov is just a complete player where Mick D is offense only. Barkov didn't win Selke by accident, he's the more complete player in today's NHL than Mick D is.

Your observation about him outskating McDavid is incorrect if you actually watch closely. He had more forward momentum as McDavid was still turning. McDavid was gaining on him until he passed the puck and he slowed up a bit to deal with the guy who had possession.
