That ficus is simply awesome. It remembers me of mangrove trees in tropical lagoons, with all those exposed roots near the water. A good way too hold moss in place in this kind of wall is to wrap it with aluminum wire for a while

It's cool that you have at least two folks (Xin and Connor) who do bonsai near (?) your home. I'm a younger postman and visited already around 3000-4000 homes in different post districts and only spotted a bonsai enthusiast ONCE! But I already discovered like 10 folks who are growing cacti and succulents which is cool too

I wanted to take care of them more and try more kind of these but I don't have time to do it ....

A year or two ago, Connor showed you a tree he was working on. I think he was trying to make it look like the floating boulders in Avatar. He had the roots growing through a long tube like thing surrounding the rocks and soil. I think he was slowly removing the soil until it was just rocks and roots. Does that ring any bells? Is that tree still alive?

Connor, where did you find a limber pine (pins flexilis)? I've been admiring them here in the foothills and Kananaskis Country west of Calgary but they are protected here in Alberta so you can't collect them in the wild.

Wow I would have probably identified the Korean Fir as a Podocarpus on first look. It does have an amazing geometry.

The ficus looks like a big mangrove tree (black mangrove). I should start buying some big trees and not just growing my own small trees in pot maybe start growing some in the ground but field growing is kinda hard when i live a normadic life(or homeless)
