I think people on this thread that are saying "why him and not the others?" are not understanding something very crucial. Conors team mandated a rehydration clause. People need to realize that's dangerous by itself. Now add a guy juiced up and his team and promotional company knew about it weeks prior. Hence Eubank Sr. Coming out weeks before the fight giving us signs that this was dangerous for his son and even going as far as boycotting it. Come on. If we're being serious this is damn near attempted murder. No regard for Eubanks jr life at all. They tried to cover all this up because of all the money invested into this fight and now it turned into a premeditated crime. This is on a whole different level.

For me, there is just too much circumstantial evidence to defend conor Benn. 1. In January of this year, Ben is dropped from the WBC rankings because he failed to enroll on to VADA. 2. He fails the test in a fight where he has to bulk to a career high in weight. 3. He fails on a testosterone treatment. Why does a 25-26 year old male need testosterone? 4. The substance is completely synthetic so he can't use Tyson Fury's wild boar or Canelos Mexican beef excuse. Synthetic drugs have to be over the counter 5. Plus, On average, it’ll take between 27.5 and 38.5 days to completely eliminate Clomid from your system; approximately 4 to 6 weeks. If that's the case surely an earlier test would have found steroids in his system. If the information that it was an "adverse" finding is true, meaning low levels present it could be contamination. I work in a testing laboratory albeit not for athletes and we test down to trace levels of micrograms per millilitre, which equates to parts per billion. Where is the B sample info and what were the levels found in his system, does anyone know? Fantastic video as always.

@markdoughty87802 жыл бұрын
If Benn's found bang to rights on this then he has to be banned, and, for it to have any meaning and as a deterrent to others, it has to be for more than one year - which is meaningless in the modern boxing world. Minimum two years. Even if he can somehow offer some plausible and believable excuse and reason for this PED being in his system, this incident will follow him around for the rest of his boxing career. As was mentioned, he's old enough to have a say on what goes into his body and how it's likely to affect it; so, for me, it's not looking good for him right now. Neither of them got paid as this became public knowledge before either of them stepped onto the scales; so they've both missed out on a multimillion pound payday. Got to feel for Eubank Jr, as he did everything that was asked of him and the cancellation of the show was nothing to do with him; also, all the fighters on the undercard have lost out on decent paydays as the show was pulled. Can't see Conor Benn being the flavour of the month within the boxing fraternity for quite some time, unless he's somehow cleared of any wrongdoing here...

What I've always wondered is how do the trainer's not know their boxer is on PEDs? Maybe fines and bans shouldn't be just placed on the boxer...maybe that would promote more stringent monitoring throughout a camp and also put trainer's off from working with these boxers that have tested positive for PEDs...which might in turn be more of a deterrent than banning a boxer for a year who fights once or twice a year anyway. Or have a different boxing division where they're all on drugs and we can see some freak show blood baths...as that's what we really want to see.

Imo the way to stake a big step towards fixing this issue is that going forward if multiple testing agencies are being used for a fight then it should be contractually obligated that the agencies have to talk to each other and test people on the same day so if for example UKAD decide to test a fighter then they have to let VADA know so they can send someone round within a pre agreed timeframe eg 6 hours so if both tests are done within hours of eachother rather than days/weeks/months then both tests are far more likely to show the same thing and their will be less "the board doesn't recognize VADA, he passed his UKAD testing" etc once a fighter gets popped they are given 2 options 1, plead guilty and get a shorter ban and a smaller fine, if the fighter wishes to prove it was taken accidentally in a supplement then they should be allowed to present evidence to the board and if they can prove accidental ingestion then the a portion of the fine can be reimbursed but the ban remains the same 2, plead not guilty in which case the B sample is tested within a pre agreed time frame to quickly determine whether or not their has been an error in testing (the overwhelming majority of B samples will be the same as the A) If the B sample is clean, fighter is found not guilty and is clear to fight and the whole process is over and done with quickly If the B sample is dirty the fighter is guilty beyond doubt and has tried to lie about it so faces a long ban and a big fine and again the process is dealt with quickly rather than letting it drag out and people lose interest

Dan Rafael said the hair test gives you a more accurate picture of long term ped use. So it should be mandatory at least once a year to get the hair test done and likewise in this instance Conor Benn should push for a hair test. likewise Benn should not be banned at all unless he refuses a hair test. I've already asked this question but no one has really answered it. If a ped/substance and even it's metabolites can be your system, how can a boxer pass multiple drug tests in the lead up to a fight, but only fail one midway? the only one i can think of is that a boxer takes ped's in small doses right after a drug test, thinking he won't be tested within the next week/2 weeks but it backfires. However i don't buy that one given it's random testing, they can get tested any time. If he took it weeks/months earlier, can it go undetected through multiple tests and then just rock up at random?
@Obiamajoyisrmd2 жыл бұрын
Where did this question even come from? Does it matter? You’re asking about the testing in relation to when an athlete took the drug. How the heck would anyone be able to confirm the exact time it was taken? And why would we believe the athlete telling us when they took it? They are already doing something they shouldn’t be doing. No reason to believe them without sufficient evidence or proof.

@@Obiamajoyisrmd I'm not even talking about believing a boxer's story. What I mean is, if a ped is in your system, you're getting caught right? how can you pass multiple tests before a fight but fail one inbetween? since uk fighters are both ukad and vada tested (for big fights like this one), how can a fighter like whyte pass vada but fail ukad? or vice versa in Benn's case? either HE is dirty or he isn't. how is he passing tests if he is dirty? hence my assumption that they are either cycling right after a test, which is insane and doubtful, or there is a problem with sample. OR drug tests are never 100% accurate and so often times the substance/it's metabolites can go undetected for weeks before they eventually rock up
@Obiamajoyisrmd2 жыл бұрын
@@channel55andaboxoftissues16 Easy answer is some testing programs have different panels compared to others. So vada might test for clomiphene and it’s metabolites a,b, and c. Another agency might only test for clomiphene and only metabolite “a.” The other answer depends on the cutoffs and test sensitivity. For vada a positive test might be anything over 2000 nanograms/dl. Another agency might be positive only if over 4000 ng/dl. So 3000 ng/dl is positive for vada, but negative with the other agency. Also a common misperception is that agencies like vada are responsible to the public. They are not. So when you ask “why didn’t vada say anything?” That question isn’t really a fair question. These agencies only report to whoever they are contracted with. So they are/were responsible for giving the results back to the boxers, the promoters, and management. When is as fans here about it depends on when the promotional companies and management decide to share that information.
@channel55andaboxoftissues162 жыл бұрын
@@Obiamajoyisrmd Thanks for answering, that makes sense. It's interesting stuff. I don't think either party will outright give us the full result of any investigation. As far as im concerned, unless benn has failed a ukad test, they have no right legally to ban him. Vada is voluntary. if Ukad/bbbc were to release information on Benn's test result where 'some' trace amounts were in his system, then in the eyes of the public, he is guilty, but bbbc should not have any power to ban him. It's more how he will be perceived. if on the otherhand there was nothing on the ukad test, then it suggests a different anomaly and i go back to that dillian whyte situation where the sample was contaminated (by their own words). Vada are very open, they dont keep their info private. Ukad keep it private and between themselves, the fighters and the bbbc. Vada go public. When canelo failed they went public and released a statement. think about it, they've known for weeks and said nothing. Why would they do that? no way vada would keep it to themselves unless they had some doubt about their own test. Conor Benn had wbc ranking so it wasn't just at the mercy of the fighters discretion. Also, i think it was Eubank sr who told Rais al khaimah the story, he's done an exclusive interview/cover story on the eubank's before, a very positive one, so they have a good relationship. I think the bbbc reacted to public pressure.

There's no precedent for a four year ban. Fury didn't get one so why should Benn? 2 years is sufficient imo

2 years is unacceptable for cheating.

I am of the Opinion Mr Benn knows exactly what was going into his body. I am also of the opinion that Mr Benn is afraid of his dad should he acknowledge this substance. Mr Benn also failed twice. I sense it will be a technicality that gets Benn off the hook. The politics of boxing.

Bans should be at least 2 years and preferably 3. A real meaningful dent in people’s careers is the only way to cut this stuff out

Didn't Eddie use dillians passed VADA tests to justify he was clean. But now VADA results can be ignored cos UKAD were different. We're still don't know how far apart the tests were for Benn, if they were anywhere near as close as dillians Eddie would me making more fuss about them

Strange how BBBoC recognised VADA during the lockdown Fight Camp shows when UKAD weren't going out resting and VADA were 🧐

He could justify it if he said he had hypergonadism. It is actually used to treat infertility in men too. I don’t know why they’ve gone ‘women only’ in the media. Don’t get me wrong, you can tell from his rapid physique change that something is up but he probably could get an exemption for clomid if you have hormone issues as a man.
@leeharlow56332 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but your explanation is not the greatest here. Clomid would be used to boost LH and FSH production after a anabolic cycle, where your natural production of both would be almost be shut down. That’s the give away of using something they shouldn’t be, an un natural boost in test levels with LH and FSH levels in the toilet. However long you’ve shut your natural cycle down, would roughly be how long it takes to kick start things and get hormones back on track, back to something like normal before the anabolic cycle, sometimes taking longer than the cycle itself. So you’re talking a few weeks for the anabolic cycle, a few weeks for the post cycle therapy, using a banned substance that can be detected in the urine several months after you stop taking it. Although only as small study, in the first study I came across, clomid was still found in the participants urine anywhere from 121 days to 265 days later, after taking it for 30 days. Look at the time frames here, he fought 4 times between April 21 and April 22, there’s no way anyone is doing cycles of anything in that time frame, with the amount he would be tested. I’m not saying he’s innocent of wrong doing, the way this has all he handled points to some wrong doing, but we don’t have all the facts. We have no exact dates on when what tests were done, or what all his other blood markers were around these times, which would give away some kind of wrong doing. All the people just saying post cycle therapy, Just because it’s used for your average gym bro after a cycle, clearly have zero understanding of anything. Your average gym bro hasn’t got to worry about his test levels jumping off the page whilst blasting, hasn’t got to worry about his LH and FSH levels being shut down during the cycle, and hasn’t got to worry about taking a banned substance to bring the LH and FSH levels back up to something normal, to cover the unnatural boost in testosterone, using a banned substance that can still be detected in urine for several months after it’s use. I consider myself objective, have the ability to critically think and ask questions. A lot doesn’t add up here.

I never realized that your system shuts down if you inject a steroid like testosterone.
