I think there is none who deserves the honour of a fight with Usyk in HW right now. Dubois should be sent back to where he belongs with his whining, offences and dirty fighting. He did not really deserve to stand in the same ring with Usyk, let alone call him out the way he did, it was a disgrace. But I think Usyk is not ready to retire, he just loves boxing and wants to continue in his samuray journey. Maybe he will need to be defeated or injured to decide it is time to take a different path in live, in which no doubt he will do marvelously, whatever he decides to do. I would also rather see him remain an undefeated legend, which he fully deserves. But his ideas may be different than mine and he will just follow his dreams, not dreams of other people for him.

There ar plenty of optimistic vices that USYK will continue however that vibe exists not because media or commentators are pushing or encouraging USYK to do what the public wishes to hear. A friend of mine is was actually in the ring with USYK after the last fight in Riadh and has as close of contact with him as a good friend. Based on that I know his closest friends, unlike maybe FURY’s family will NOT be pushing USYK to stay/continue not encourage him to retire. All they will say - Sanya, have a rest, see how you feel and it’s only your call brother. We will support your decision because we know you and respect you. You have done everything and can do what you feel like. Knowing how competitive USYK is he may just decide to put the annoying fly (DEBOIS, nice guy) to rest and then retire.

His legacy is cemented. I disagree that he's staring down the barrel of a defeat in 12-18 months, though. There's no one beating the version of Usyk that showed up for Fury 2. Best shape at Heavy, sublime movement & speed, and enough pop to keep a great boxer fighting scared for 12. He should retire but only because there's nothing left for him to achieve. You don't need 45 fights padded with 30 tomato cans to claim ATG status. What he's achieved will likely never be replicated. World Champion in 10, Undisputed Cruiser in 15, Undisputed Heavyweight in 22... all on the road and against the best of a generation in two weight classes. Who could he reasonably fight now that would elevate his status?

Thats a fantastic summary of his career. I tend to agree with the point about him losing within 18 months as well , I don't see significant signs of a decline albeit he probably peaked in the first AJ fight but any diminishing of his abilities is negligible at this point and in any case theres no one close right now to challenge. I don't think he will retire(he literally said that himself) but I agree, he should retire, and most would agree. He's 38, and for a style that relies exclusively on speed, agility and fitness, those are the attributes that leave a fighter with age first. The fact he's still able to perform to the level that he does, is a credit to his disciplined clean lifestyle just like Beterbiev, but age is thing, he's almost 40, and the history lessons are there for those top fighters that stayed in the game too long.

Doesn't mean that harms him though, when Klitschko lost at 41 to Joshua it was a great passing of the torch fight, it didn't harm him that he lost to a fighter that realistically wouldn't of had a chance against a Prime Klitschko or even closer to Prime Klitschko. Easy win for Usyk plus when he beat Dubois again 2 time undisputed at heavyweight! Could even drop down to Bridgerweight just so he can call himself a 3 weight champ.

He won’t though. I’d like him to go back to CW, clean house, with last fight against Beterbiev

If he went down to CW I think he will lose

100% agree with everything you said.

Spot on! He should retire now!

I totally agree 100%he should retire now , hes done everything there is to do in the sport and more , hes made enough money and still has his health so needs to enjoy his achievements with his family and I think he will now or I hope so anyway

Usyk should retire now 100%. Comparing fighters of different generations is'nt realistic and involves heavy usage of rose tinted glasses. Usyk has done it for this generation, he has nothing left to prove. Dubois does'nt matter, he should be concentrating on banana skin Parker. Time for Usyk to sail off into the sunset. A gentleman and a charismatic fella, I would hate to see his story flawed.

He still thinks that he is in his prime and has the task from Ukrainian leadership to represent Ukrainian culture on the world stage. I expect him to have 1-2 more fights.

Agreed, he is getting a bit slower and more stiff. He has done it all. Done risk it against Dubois again.
@mybrotherkeeper148421 сағат бұрын
Agreed. I wanted him to retire after the first Fury fight

I think he should retire and if he was fighting for himself then I'm sure he would but because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine he is fighting for the moral of his people. So I feel like he'll carry on as long as he feels he can beat everyone else.

Dubois is hoping to age him out and Dubois has a fight in another 2 months. If they meet it will be in almost a years time. 38 is too old to be fighting at top level.
@80skid8315 сағат бұрын
Depends cos dubois is young , so even if he takes some punishment in his next fight the level of recovery will be quick

Usyk vs Dubois could happen at Wembley in July/September or Riyadh in October

I would love to see Usyk/Parker however he can still go back down and win at Cruiserweight again which NOBODY has ever done

The way his lived, I think,another 4 fights over 2 years until he's 40. Would be fair especially his lived the boxers life

Usyk is probably wanting to retire at 25-0 he's got 2 fights left.

Personally I would love to see Usyk fight on at least in the short term because he isn't showing significant signs of decline and also because selfishly he's a fantastic fighter to watch ; I've seen nothing like that level of movement stamina and output at HW in my 35 years of watching the sport.
