Diaz has lost 11 times in the UFC. I think it's cool when he fights, but no way he should be anywhere near a belt when the division is stacked with guys with single digit losses. It should be Dustin vs Nate next for a couple of reasons. 1. If dustin takes the trilogy with Conor and loses Nate might not want to fight Dustin anymore 2. It’s new, both other options for dustin and Conor are trilogies or versions of fights I’ve already seen. (Yes no two fight are the same but a matchup we’ve never seen leaves more open to talk about) 3. Taking the fight with Nate now when it’s available leaves the Conor trilogy in Dustin’s back pocket for later down the road 4. Taking the Nate fight now also takes away a potential opponent for Conor adding a little extra salt to his most recent loss 5. Belts don’t matter as much to me anymore. So I don’t care if Nate gets a title shot after a layoff. Same reason my number one welterweight fight right now is Jorge vs Colby (Please god get this fight done) Either way there are so many good matchups in the lightweight division I’m just happy to be along for the ride.
