what mcgregor did at ufc 205 is one of the best performances in the history of the sport. anyone who doesnt belive me should go watch some of eddies fights, that man is a beast and conor made him look like an amateur.
@JNJ1014 Жыл бұрын
To be clear, I love Khabib & I'd want my son to emulate him rather than Conor. Khabib is an infinitely better role model of discipline, hard work, humility, respect & basically everything martial arts stand for. But I've said it before & will say it again: the peak version of McGregor (which was CM at UFC 205) was not only the best Conor we've ever seen, not only the best lightweight we've ever seen, but the best fighter the UFC has ever seen PERIOD. Nobody, not even peak BJ Penn, Anderson Silva, Jon Jones or GSP has ever put on a performance so unbelievably dominant as Conor at UFC 205. And even though he beat the shit out of the lazy, unfocused, drunk, coke-using, flat-footed boxing, $100MM+ net worth version of Conor, I just don't think any version of Khabib would be enough to beat the UFC 205 version of Conor. I think UFC 205 Conor would have been too fast for Khabib & caught him cleanly w/a knee or an uppercut as soon as Khabib hit the 1st shot at Conor's legs.

@Breakbeats92.52 жыл бұрын
I keep hearing people say, "McGregor changed the fight game," but no one can explain how.
@thelegion36822 жыл бұрын
@@Breakbeats92.5 he changed the game because pre McGregor era the UFC had a very small percentage of the following it has today. Conor McGregor brought back see, believe and achieve and he introduced the art of mental warfare into the arsenal of MMA abilities. Conor McGregor brought on the inspiration so many other fighters needed to be able to follow their dreams and stay committed to their dreams of standing in that octagon themselves one day. Ian Garry, khamzat chemiaev and several other names on the UFC roster potentially would not be there if not for McGregor. As much as you want to hate him and even deny him.... You will still be forced to accept him. Hell even boxing received the booster it needed to spark interest back into the sport exactly when McGregor faced Mayweather. The entire MMA fighters vs Jake Paul thing would absolutely not have happened if McGregor hadn't came into the UFC and changed the way we as observers watch the game as well as how fighters play the game. McGregor was living in peoples head homes and hearts rent free bro and it's soo obvious he's still living in his critics heads rent free. The fact that I'm actually having to use my lunch break time to respond to a comment on KZbin someone randomly left here is obvious proof that McGregor still lives in so many peoples head rent free. Anyway.... Yeah McGregor changed the game for the UFC and without McGregor there would not be even half as many eyes on the sport and the company zuffa sports . Remember.... José Aldo reigned as king of the division for over a decade and McGregor came in and dismantled him in 13 seconds and absolutely skyrocketed the UFC into the stratosphere with public interest in knowing more about this Conor McGregor character that they kept hearing about. Ok breaks over now. Your question is answered good enough, right? Have a good day my friend

People forget or make themselves deliberately ignorant to legendary achievements and ground breaking new perspectives and philosophies this man saw through obsessive retraining of his subconscious mind and constantly, consciously applying the law of attraction, simply because they can't differentiate between the man and his life now and who he was years before, which was something entirely different. Never saying no to a new fighter, going straight for Chad without a second's thought despite it being on 2 week's notice and him being Conor's worst stylistic matchup. Conor simply chose to see it that 'If 2 steps out in place of 3, why worry?'. And again, when he re-tore his ACL barely 2 weeks before this fight with a wholly new fighter, again, he pressed forward without letting any doubt into his mind, despite Jose having already pulled out for a bruised rib despite being cleared to fight. He went on to KO Chad inside 2 rounds. Again with Nate, agreeing without hesitation to fight Nate instead of RDA 25lbs up from his previous fight and 15lbs up from his scheduled lightweight championship to welterweight for the first time on 11 days notice. His coach and Dana were begging him to go back down to lightweight after he lost to Nate but instead he trained the areas he needed to (primarily cardio), got back in there at welterweight, dropped Nate 3 times in 2 round (Masvidal only dropped Nate once in three rounds with a head kick he leaned into and Leon Scott, despite similarly piecing Nate up for 24 minutes, couldn't drop him once) and beat him on his home turf, a 5 round war. These things can't go unmissed. Let alone how he murdered nearly the entire featherweight division with absolute ease, with only subsequent featherweight champion and iron chinned hero Max Holloway making it to a UD loss when McGregor had first torn his ACL (the one that tore again in the build up to Chad) where future interim lightweight champion Poirier was KO'D in just over 100 seconds. Let's not forget how he destroyed nearly 10 year undefeated, only featherweight champion Jose Aldo, who only had 1 loss at that time to his name and was in contention for the best P4P fighter in the world. And McGregor, time and time again, said exactly how he was going to trap and take the overeager Jose out inside one round with his left, practicing that exact scenario in the backroom right before the fight before walking into the Octagon, smiling the entire time and then taking Jose out in one punch in the first 12 seconds of the fight, the fastest ever KO in UFC championship history. Same with how he went up to lightweight, agreeing just 6 weeks after having fought Nate to take on Eddie Alvarez for another belt, going on to absolutely dismantle him with ease in every single area. This being the Eddie Alvarez who had beaten Michael Chandler, had just destroyed RDA in one round, who would be getting the better of Poirier in their 1st fight before an accidental DQ and who collapsed Gaethje in a war that, alongside his loss to Poirier, had to make the later reconsider his approach to fighting. And Conor absolutely toyed with him and emphatically took him out of there to become the first ever two weight world champion. People shouldn't be ever calling the man a chicken or a hype job. The man literally fought anyone at any time on any notice at any weight, was one of the best strikers the UFC has ever seen (arguably top 3 with Anderson and Wonderboy) and achieved unprecedented records that had never been done before. The man was an absolute killer and should rightly be seen for the gamechanger he is.

He “landed more punches on Mayweather than anyone else” but couldn’t hurt him and didn’t phase Mayweather enough to go into defensive mode. He also EASILY outweighed Mayweather by 15-20 pounds. I will say I’m not a Mayweather fan! His style is beyond boring. He never punishes his opponents. It like he does the bare minimum to win the decision. Way too many wins by decision in his career, where some wins can even be argued. He had a lot of hand picked opponents to secure his legacy. These are facts! Great defense, and that’s all. He calls himself a scientist. If a scientist is winning as many fights as u can by not getting hit as much and landing just enough shots to win on the scorecard than I’ll give him that! However, he was never a Dominator and he barely won a ton of his fights. He’s not a powerful puncher and just sits in the corner with his guard up most of the time until the other guy gets tired, and then he’ll land some unhurtful punches on the scorecards just giving him enough points to win. To me, that’s not a champion! Not to mention, he never really fought someone that was so dominating! He’s a paper champion at best and managed to breeze his way to being undefeated, and many wont agree with some of the decisions that kept him winning. Connor hit Floyd more than anyone and did awesome! Mayweather was so close to being humiliated and I wouldn’t be surprised if the fight was set in order for Mayweather to give Connor his 100 mil payday. Bottom line! Mayweather is boring and does just enough to win in decisions and Conor is a dominator!
