There's a huge difference when you punch someone with UFC gloves on (4-6 ounce) VS punching someone with Boxing gloves (either 8 or 10 ounce). The so called punching power will not completely transfer over. Rule of thumb: The lighter the glove in terms of ounces, the harder the punch will be.

If this fight does happen, I doubt the UFC will get a large split. Connor is not a bad negotiator and would never fight under those conditions or a low split. At worst, the split would be around 60/40 with Connor getting 80% the UFC 20%. I don't see it going any other way.

Dan The man lol yes one sparring session with a guy who is a grappler proves your point. Dillashow was throwing wild punches the whole time while Loma was being patient and looking for gaps in Dillashaws guard. Had the situation been reversed 1. Loma would have hit him way more 2. Loma would have been just as tired. even then Dillashaw and Mcgregor could not be more different, what allows Mcgregor to succeed is his hand placement, he is probably one of the worst grapplers in MMA but his speed and hand placement are fantastic, and his fighting style and length will probably bother Floyd. Lets also keep in mind that Dillahaw isn't a championship fighter he isn't going for 3 5 minute rounds every time like Mcgregor has been.

I'm a fan of both fighters. Conor might be the A side in the negotiations because he is one of the very few contenders that would sell a decent amount of PPV buys. Say, you promote a fight of Floyd vs "you name it". Most ppl would say, 'Well, I'm not spending 70 bucks to see Floyd running around the ring without engaging in punching trade, again'. What I meant is that Connor does have power. it's just the way he throws his punch but it sounds like other boxers with power punches which is wrong. this guy has that power punch with good precision. for example every body says Connor is not a boxer, I agree. I don't understand how Dana White can say he has settled McGregor's side without agreeing anything with Mayweather's camp? I have my doubts as the what could possibly be agreed by one side without talking to the other... The date, the weight, the split of all the profits (Mayweather will want the at least 60%) and drug testing can only be decided once Mayweather has laid down his terms. Not to mention how difficult Mayweather's team is to negotiate with. Is the Dana White really going to allow Mayweather to take a 60% cut, then McGregor and the UFC split 40%? Chances are that Mayweather will want the entire event to be a boxing event. What part will the UFC play in the overall promotion? A lot of egos will have to be kept in check for this to work.
