Before Conor fought Khabib, he became the first 2-division champ in the history of the UFC by beating Alvarez, where he already had beef brewing with Khabib, Khabib also called him out in that same card in the prelims. Mcgregor would then go on to fight Mayweather and go 10 rounds with him, and came back to settle unfinished business with Khabib after his friend was attacked. The fact that he was at the pinnacle of the sport was primarily what made that fight so intriguing. Mcgregor lost 2 fights in a row to Dustin Poirier, has made a complete fool of himself on social media and also on TUF, looks like a coke addict and has been at the mercy of USADA (which the UFC had to cut ties with) to bypass their 6-month requirement and fight again, literally showing that the guy is unable to fight clean anymore, plus the chances of him actually being able to cut to 155 with how roided out he is are slim to none. How does this compare to Khabib’s fight at all? Islam is in his prime and everybody, even Irish diehard Mcgregor fans know Conor would get absolutely obliterated by Islam without question, he looks so bad and has had a terrible resume as of late that the build-up wouldn’t even be good.. I know DC wants his boy to get paid but Conor would have to come back, prove that he is a 155 contender (if he can even make 155) and climb the ranks before even considering making that fight

Makhachev already got punched in the face by Conor before (post KhabibvsConor fight, during the brawl). So there is history there. Makhachev already made fun of Conor multiple times. And the reason I said "sport wise", look : *Conor Mcgregor* is a terrible matchup for *Makhachev* !! Spinning back kick ? Boxing ? Now black belt in BJJ too ! Makhachev is NOT Khabib. Way worse on the ground and like to kick and strike. It would be a superb fight for the fans, for the story between those guys (because there never was a rematch between KN and CM which is disappointing). AND big money paycheck for both fighters. When Conor was matched up against Khabib, his last UFC fight was KO’ing Alvarez to become a double champ, and his last fight was going 10 rounds against Mayweather for the biggest event in combat sports history, it was actually believable that Conor’s left hand could end Khabib’s streak, which made it even more interesting There’s not one rational human being on the planet other than Conor and his wife who think he can give Makhachev, the guy who just beat the P4P #1 fighter twice in a row, any problems at all… Sure they have history but the matchup has to make sense too, in this case it doesn’t… However if Conor comes back and wins a fight or two at 155 then yes make the fight

Sean Strickland is a glorified journeyman nothing more nothing less. He's got a few screws loose and he's willing to get his head beat in and keep walking forward. He's the guy we all grew up with that will keep fighting no matter how bad he gets beat. Chimaev has a few screws loose as well and he's a better fighter. Sean doesn't want to fight someone like himself, who is a better fighter too!
