100%! Back in 2006 I had foot drop and one of the things that helped the most was yoga! The strengthening and the mindfulness of the movements helped so much! I have let my yoga practice slip a bit in recent years. This is a great reminder to get back into a regular practice. Thanks!

Thank you for the inspiration. Long ago, I was a dancer. But I stopped dancing when I gave up on doing it professionally, although I had worked professionally somewhat. Lately, I’ve been longing to start dancing again. I bought a video on barre work at home, some on belly dancing, some on stretching like a dancer. The ones I used to have on tap, jazz, hula, and other forms of dance are no longer available. I no longer look or move like a dancer, and I absolutely hate that. When I was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease (23 years ago), I added in T’ai Chi to improve my balance. It helped-a lot. I tried Yoga, but the inverted poses brought on vertigo. Recently, I repurchased the videos I used to have for T’ai Chi, and I found a couple on doing Yoga in a chair. When MS was added to my list of diagnoses, I was gobsmacked. When a large lesion was found in my brainstem, which plays a significant part in our balance, I gave up. I have constant vertigo that ranges between being off-balance to not being able to function. But something changed when we lost everything in a fire. At first, I felt energized about starting again over 60. Then the truth of the loss and others I experienced in a couple of weeks time, hit so hard that I checked out for a few years. I’m trying to recover as much as I can of the life I once knew. So, I started buying videos and watching online classes. I want to start again, but I’m afraid of what I will find. All of this is a long way to say that I understand what you’ve gone through, and I thank you immensely for sharing your experience. It gives me hope that I can improve my lot. And that means more to me than I can express in words. So, here’s a very long distance hug from me and a heartfelt thank you. Bravo on your return!

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. What a rollercoaster you’ve been on and I commend you for your strength in facing these challenges. Your renewed positivity is a lesson we all can learn something from! If you are willing to give yoga another go, do so seated and ever so gently. If inverted postures cause unpleasant symptoms, there’s no need for you to engage in them. You can make the practice your own. Stay well 🙏🏻🧡

Keep it going Seb❣️ The stress relief you get from the exercise helps all the symptoms and keeps some at bay. I had to battle a little fatigue at first. however, it gets way better. It takes time to improve balance, but with your core strength, you'll be able to surprise yourself❣️ Staying positive and having compassion is where you want to be.❤ I am currently trying to learn to play Tai Chi. Its focus is not just to learn about flow but also to have a softer approach to movement by allowing ourselves to be more light hearted, and playful. Rest when you're tired. Sometimes, I get the shakey side massaged. I find this helps. You have good form and you are very strong. I'm excited to see you get stronger. 💪❤️🩹

Hi Seb. I’ve been incorporating some yoga poses in my physio routine. I do these on the bed so I have a soft place to land if I lose control. I’m trying to regain some flexibility in my spine because I have some back pain. You are a good influence on others with your positive outlook.

Brilliant explanation of one of the paths you have chosen to help you overcome and improve your difficulties. Yoga, added to the power of your clear mind and the desire to share your experience with all of us is what make you so special. Means a lot. You have the "it factor" Seb. You really have it. Peace.

Hi Seb, I pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ that you will be healed. Best regards Chris “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. John 3:16 (King James Version Bible) Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son Of God the Father.
