Unless you really are short on caps. But to not have at least 300 caps by the time you've gone past The Strip is pretty rare.

I have a better way to get infinite moneys: get an NCR Uniform or other cheap medium armor, jury rig a combat armor, and then sell the combat armor to a vendor for damaged combat armor. This works best on the crimson caravan vendor basically the game doesn’t check what the CND on the armor is and just gives you caps and a full CND armor. Infinite cap glitch.

I'm on a similar playthrough but more evil acts such as gaining the dine and dash perk just so i can get extra two caps for everyone i stealth kill or for easy meal (it's on hardcore), completing Birds of a Feather, and the contreras quest similar to this (don't know where i mess up though, i didn't get This Machine). Heh, i actually reverse pickpocket the mercs at Jacobstown with C4 and sold everything without ncr infamy (forgot to ask caps from marcus though)
