Fun fact: The scene where Denken's group fights the gargoyles and fights Laufen's clone is only a few panels in the manga. The animation team at Madhouse really went all out in this adaptation. I love it!

One VEEEERY small little detail that i find really cute about this test is that when Fern uses the mini-map spell you can see that the way she draws stairs looks exactly how THE most popular way for dnd map-makers to draw stairs. While that 1% chance is small for us, think about it from Frieren's point of view. How many mimics will she encounter in her long life? There is actually a good chance of her encountering that 1%, so why the heck not? She's strong enough to not die from it. Might as well. Also about the dungeon being tame for Frieren's party: as we've seen, she's experienced enough to know where to go, where the secret loots are, and how to avoid (not mimic) traps. Of course they'd have the easiest time. Frieren's taken the safest route and dealing with any problems along the way.
