The dungeon master, the water-mirror fiend, only reads the minds of its opponents one time while creating the clones. If the clones were continually reading their opposites’ minds then Ubel’s clone would have known that Ubel was waiting for the real Land to show up and save her. Also if the clones were constantly reading their opposites’ minds then nobody could plan an attack because the clone would know about it also.

I think the reason Fern says she can defeat her references what she says in ep. 18 about losing to other mages, even ones with less mana... is one of the determining factors (the last she mentions) is talent. Sense tells Fern she's the most skilled mage she's seen at her age. And remembering farther back, we learned that Fern can cast spells faster than Frieren. The setup is all there to say that Fern can 1v1 Frieren since they would likely both exclusively use ordinary offensive and defensive magic.

Fern has spent her entire life casting just bare basic spells, no shine no fluf, just shield and blast over and over again. Fern can kill the copy because she can just drown her with attack spells and since they cast faster than frieren's eventually one will slip through it's defenses

@@Nick-ib3hw that might have a chance of happening if she doesn't have overwhelming mana advantage and could casually keep a full circle shield that's especially design to counter basic spell without breaking a sweat while fern could run out of mana just from the barrage, let alone frieren can counter attack during a barrage while keeping that full circle shield as demonstrated by her fight with denken. and she has more battle experience. even then she's plenty fast herself and could also use zoltrak barrage + other spells that fern haven't seen. like if your RPG character stats is way worse than the enemy except for one parameter which is slightly better it's weird to assume that you'd be winning 1 v 1. she probably needs a lot of set up with the help of everyone to create a situation where she can fully utilize that speed advantage of her to the fullest to snipe frieren at the right time.

Just a little correction that I think needs explained that I haven't seen yet. Sense does not control or create the thing that is creating the replicas. That's why they attack with full hostility and want to kill the participants. Also it was stated earlier that no one has conquered this dungeon yet. Love the reactions! Have a good day.

Just a reminder that it took Frieren a whole stage worth of prep to catch the supersonic bird with the bird cathing spell, Fern casually caught hers with that same spell pretty easily, clearly there are things Fern is better at than Frieren (plus she said she lost to weaker mages 11 times before)

That's because fern is a genius in mana control. Even before frieren taught her anything heither already noticed that she can't be detected (episode 3) and even Lyney who is an expert demon mana reader didn't detect her when they attack the demons (episode 8). So the stille will not be able to detect her and she can get close and cast the spell. Basically she can do what frieren did but unlike frieren she can move while all her mana is gone.

I have different thoughts when Roshi pointed out Land is bleeding from nipples and ass... Now I'm hyped see a zombie/clone apocalypse thing.
