Data shows that over 80% women of color feel they cannot be themselves in the workplace. They feel an immense amount of pressure to steer away from their unique authentic selves shedding the very culture, background and experiences that provided the path to their accomplishments. As a survivor of this conformity, Dr. Escalera offers words of advice to break away from the pull to conform at work and learn to speak up regardless of the consequences.
Dr. Jasmine Escalera is a job search and career strategist for women of color. She has proven coaching programs that help her clients identify their career passion. Jasmine was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and fell in love with chemistry in high school and went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Pace University. She works to design programs that increase the quality of life and healthcare options for underserved populations.
