I recently introduced a mate to CB, noticed his main mistake is to almost neglect his units in favour of rushing and slashing with his Nodachi-hero. So I find myself to tell him repeatedly what I wished somebody would have told me in the beginning: Your hero supports your units, not the other way around! That however seems to be a lenghty and sometimes painful procedure to internalize. Greetings !

That is indeed what most new players do wrong. Then, as soon as they hit level 100 suddenly that tactic is near instant death as well. I 100% agree, in most cases heroes support units. (Some argument to be made about dual blades and what not)

I have a friend who plays like that with a shortsword class. He's lvl 100+ and plays with us lvl 1.3k+ and he's relentless at harassing flanks & backlines, capturing flags & supply points every chance he gets. But he only averages 2 deaths per game for some reason. He causes enough ruckus to destabilize the enemy defense or offensive push. We tried teaching him how to play with units but he seems to enjoy the hyper-aggressive, in your face, balls to the wall, all out brawl playstyle more.

Very handy, I wish this video was out when I've started. The only thing I would add, that each player has only one treb shot per game, and after somone uses it it shows for short period of time as "unavaliable" and then goes into countdown. I've spent couple of games figuring out why I cannot use it.

The quick formation change can be quite useful. Micro control doesn’t necessarily need spamming X super fast; also double tapping C is great to move units as reinforcement in open fields where there are no sharp turns or obstacles

10:30 there is 1 very important and 1 less important notes to add about "directed" fire with muskets: 1 - the "elevation" of the end point of the blue "aiming tool" MUST either on or be relatively "level" with whatever you intend to shoot, because if not, most likely, the muskets will not adjust their aim to an either a higher or lower angle to hit them but just ignore those enemies and directly shoot at that point, royally missing and not hitting anything that's not "in line" between them and "point"; 2 - muskets also can be directed to shoot enemies that are outside of their "actual" normal aiming range but still inside of the actual projectile "fly range", they will be highly inaccurate if far but with some units fully specialized into accuracy, it's possible to snipe relatively "far" enemies I found about point 1 in a field battle when I accidentally aimed to a small hill right behind the enemy so my unit shot the hill instead of aiming slightly below, before that I simply thought that musket count aim up or down unless using v

Oh wow so life changing, I wish someone told me about turning off the double tap x option. Know how many time I don't pay attention and my units die because they are in the wrong formation and constantly being annoyed on monitoring my x presses. Knight you did it again.

I have a suggestion about what videos you could make when out of options or ideas: 1 - "meta counters", we always see vids of "meta" units being strong or how to make them strong, but very few are about how to go against them, pick a "meta" unit and find ways to destroy or counter it, even if it's to use some obscure units with some oddly specific tactics. 2 - over analyzing and explaining all the choices and actions you make in a match, so the newbie can understand that, what was done was not simply shooting at, standing at or charging at something, maybe that will teach them that there are more complex actions with those at the base, heck they may even learn the actual different types of units and their roles, instead of the over simplistic in game classification Edit, in school, I learned that sometimes a "verbose" explanation or analysis can be more clear than a short "specific" on point explanation somehow, probably because it leaves in stuff that may be considered "obvious" to some but not so obvious to others

@@KnightStalker I think that guided game plays are nice but for games like this, it lacks a fundamental answer of "why?" when doing many maneuvers, since sometimes one can do the same thing for different reasons, reasons that many may misunderstand for another, also last night I just encountered the famed fight with shields, imps shields, mirmillo and halderdier stg on my side, mirmillo and 2 fortes on the enemy, their flank open, their fortes poking right in my imp shields, my mirmillo teammate covering my back, the halberdier stg players behind my shields but not that forward, their wide phalanx covered the side a little though, what do you think I should have done with my imp shields slowly being poked down by the fortes and why? Apparently the halderdier stg player didn't like me thunderstrucking the enemy and advancing my shields forward Edit - also, apparently imp shield advance does not knock down mirmillos

Oh, a VERY important note is that its a TEAM game. You win together and lose together, you are 1/15th of the team so its only fair that you can't make your team win on your own. You can however play the proper units at the proper locations. Use pikes to destroy enemy cav, use shields to delay an enemy push, use cav against unsupported (no pikes) pushes. You can get a high score yourself by properly playing these units but it can happen that 4 or 5 players just don't bring enough into the battle. The problem with ranged is that their only use is killing units, they don't hold points, they don't hold heros back of points. Ranged value comes mostly when the enemy runs out of units but only in the situation where you can kill at least the leadership value of you own unit in enemies. Only after that point will you begin to be usefull with unit damage, getting 15 PG kills before losing your imp archers is not a good trade.

The only truly impactful ranged are ones that apply heavy CC like the Shenji or apply powerful debuffs like the Houndsmen or Rattan Vipers.

@kenshi jin Generally its better to bring a melee unit, I'd rather bring PG's than Imperial Archers. Not to say that they're bad but melee just have more impact on a battle faster, you can totally get kills with ranged and they can 100% change if you win or not, but again as you said its very situational. And I do have to say that I love my rattan marksmen

Ok first thing I'll say is that the grab is total trash and should be removed from the game entirely. Second thing is that it needed the other buffs, it had started to fall behind for the average player so i really have no probls with these tweaks, they address some of the concerns I had when I played it recently for a video.
