Conqueror's Blade - Best Starting Units For New Players!

So we are back with some more Conqueror's Blade as we take a look at some of the best units that newer players should be aiming to get unlocked! It may initially seem like some of these units are far away or to hard to unlock but it is honestly surprising how quickly you can reach these levels! :D

the selection is fine but I think for the rest of the leadership you have every round its a good choice to unlock the "Condos"

I loved my Namkhans for the last year, but lately with Berserkers being so abundant they just can't seem to keep up. I switched to Prefecture Archers with Rain of Arrows and it has been pure bliss. It's not just the raw dps of the high fire rate, but they do that Longbow thing of locking onto any unit close to the Rain of Arrows circle. Which is very effective when you keep them hidden and use Rain of arrows for the shock attack. Then pull them back and hide them to avoid return fire. This hit and run tactic allows my prefectures to get 65 kills on average in sieges. Where as Namkhans may have the bleed, but lately it's dps is pathetic compared to raw dps from the Prefectures high rate of fire.

Great video! Been playing again for about two weeks now after stopping way back in season 1. Could you make a follow-up video on the recommended warband build you use for attack, defend, field, etc.?

For your starting units, after the Tutorial, pick Demense Spearmen, and Squires. (Archers, and Ironcap Swordsmen) That's the 2 units between you, and Spear Sergeants. 13510 total Honor then when you unlock Heroic Era, you can get Men@Arms.

Im using condos with iron side doctrine they are completely overpowered for their cost. They are probably my most played unit ever

Nice vid as always Evo. I don’t know if I’d call these “starting units”. Definitely Pike Militia, Namkhans and IPG (as free purple). But Stalwarts and Paladins are a major grind if you don’t buy them. I had around 200hrs in CB before I unlocked them both.

Yeah I do get what you mean they are certainly quite a grind. I guess I kind of felt like I was trying to set people off grinding for the right units if that makes sense, I just didn't want people grinding to unlock really crappy units XD

yes... kinda but at least its working towards something that benefits until lategame and base staltwarts are good already.. not AS good but.. still good enough.. so upgrading that line whilst working on their opgrade works quite well imo

Misleading title "Starting units', what it shows "end game units". I think you mean what new players should invest on for end game content. 1. Village Watchman - for pushing at the start (30 leadership) 2. PikeMilitia/Namkhans/Condos/Prefguards/Squires/Halbediers/Ironcaps - second phase for walls and first objective. 3. Once inside and captured the supply line, this is where you bring out your Core unit which ever it may be (Purple Unit). 4. Final objective, any left over units you have either range units for support or shield units (preferred).

To some extent yes that is what I mean but as I mention at the start just by completeing the tutorial you get a free heroic and goldern era unit, then add in auxilleries as well and new players can be right at the top of the game from the start

For #5, I'm going to say Imperial Javelins. Their throws are handy for Siege Defense, because you're not just waiting for them to break down the door, or get a siege tower on the wall. They're reasonably fast, they have some melee capability, just a good all around unit for protecting the walls, if you know how to play them. However, that's in a good loadout with a Heavy defensive unit (Imperial Shield Guards) a rush unit (Men at Arms work if you don't have Berserkers) dedicated ranged/Archers, Cavalry... I don't really like the all range, all defensive, or all rush loadouts. That's great, if the battle is in a place where you're actually useful. However, a versatile player can hold cap points, assault the walls AND skirmish. ImpJavs are about the best you can get in the Skirmisher role. If you know how to play them.

The only staring unit for the unit tree for me is pike militia of course, ironcap aquabusier very good for its tier and deal a lot of damage, shield sergeant, ironcap swordsmen, For season unit. Season 2 namkan for the bleed/ random hero kill. Season 3 fortibracio long pike and good formation. Season 5 Stalwart tanky, deal a lot of damage and good in all aspects. Season 6 armiger for me top 3 cav maybe even number1 if you good at it. Season 7 berserker good unit if you play with team but if you solo push say goodbye to your 245 leadership vanish into thin air I don't include gold tier unit

Yeah I generally agree with all of those, I think fortebraccio can be quite hard for newer players to get the hang of but a great unit when it works :)

I went S3 first because I joined the game s7 and they were discounted but also got bezerkers and then namkhans because an easy unlock. Now everything is reduced I'm doing S5 for paladins. I would recommend getting condos early as they give you access to a playstyle that I think should set me up for paladins and are super easy to unlock. Bezerkers are a great unit if you're learning the game as they're fairly forgiving as long as you press 3 every so often. so you can just set them to follow your hero and focus on using your hero but they won't teach much about unit management.

Yeah condos are also a really great unit, as you say gives you a playstyle for infantry combat as well which is good :)

for me pile militia is ok to bring into any siege. you won't worry if they wiped out/ they can hold position easily/ some player might dumb enough to barg in and get stun by you and kill by tier 2 soldier( i saw this happen often )

The selection is ok, but getting some of these higher units like pavise is hard but here are my thought, Azaps/Paladins great charge and over sword unit, Season 6 challenges Landsharks and Armigers, Season 3 Fortebraccios, Namkhans are great as well, those are my choices for your first 1-2 mid tier units to unlock, armigers helps you learn cavalry, paladins and azap teach you how to micro manage your units and namkhans teach you positioning of units

Its true some of them are harder to get unlocked, although you could use the free goldern era unlock to get the pavise from the tech tree. DO agree about armiger and landknights being good units, also a bit fan of my fortebraccio

If new players get one free Blue, Purple, and Gold Unit from the tutorial what are the best ones to pick for siege builds that are less than 700 loyalty

i rather like the green tier muskets also, slap a purple 20% firing accuracy doc on them and u can x+1 them to insane effect can one volley burst any hero in the game from about 10 meters

the bowriders got a buff this season, highly reccomend them and maxing your ironcap scout cav too for low leadership they can be very annoying

For just honor units, do imp pike, then palace guards. Prefecture archers are also good to fill in requirements for t4. Spear sergents can be unlocked by doing stalwarts challenges.

Since all seasons are now reduced cost, players now have a much greater choice of units! Glad you didnt fall into the trap of recommending namkhans first though, them units lose their team sooo many games through players just sitting on them rather than pushing...

longbows are better then imp archers (i play longbow spec on my main charcter ) ..at least i get far ...far more kills on average with longbow unit .. .same goes for my m8 Gobu ...the unit killer king of last (few season(s) ... .who ALWAYS plays with longbow units. when i started a new toon ( 3rd extra) on eu1 i went for pike mil - ipg - nammies - condos ... (i know its 705 leadership....but with the new equipment gear -leadership boost is not hard to get) which is a good balanced unit setup for every new player. and VERY easy to unlock with nammies and condos being low tier unlocks for their season

Azaps are harder to use, but better than paladins, both lines work but I prefer the top line, counterstrike is more useful than on watch in terms of end game battles

Hey Evo, it's been a while since i last did anything with CB, i uninstalled it out of frustration since i kept losing connection to servers and then getting some security check message whenever i'd try to get back in. would have to shut the game down completely to reset it. i know others have had this issue as well, are you aware if the devs have finally gotten around to fixing this?

I wouldn't mind if it only happened like once in a while, but it happens so often, and at the worste moments (like while im loading into a match and then suddenly the server decides im not good enough). it's a shame really.

Isn't it like... Kriegs = Normal attk Imp Arq = skill based Tercios = Tanky damager I think these three have rather different types of gameplay, I especially like Kriegsrat in tight spaces. I don't really know though, kriegs deals 2~4.6k damage if I'm not wrong, it also deals 1.5~3k melee damage I think? Imp Arq is great when using their skill And Tercios can be used for brawling much better than the other two

Thing is kriegs are useless on maps where you dont have close supply point as their ammo capacity is their biggest weakness. I cant count the number of times i had to send my kriegs to resupply just when i needed them to shoot some more... Imps still deal the most damage via volley fire but are the squishiest out of all and really need to be protected. Tercios are well rounded. Their dps is lower, but they are accurate and they can survive much more than any other musket unit so it sort of forgives mistakes usually deadly for other muskers

@@odakenji4351 Sadly yeah, the ammo of kriegs are the smallest between the three, but it also proves how strong their attacks are. Kriegs are used when near a supply point, also small skirmishes. Other than that, they'll be a bigger help in big fights, sadly, almost the same as javs, which is about the same as bringing javs instead, with better melee prowess.

It’s easier to unlock higher units now but I’ll recommend: Pike unit: Demesne Pike, Pike Militia, Landsknetch Sword: Ironcap Swordsman, Condottieri, Prefecture Guard Spear: Spear Sergeant Cavalry: Salemchid, Bowrider (If possible get Armgier) Archer: Namkhan Musket: Ironcap Arquebusier & Janissary These are easier units to unlock. Mainly because they’re all either from troop tree or they’re the first challenge unit of the season

@@taejo4975 nice recommendations, I play with prefecture guards very long time, they are great in pve for low lvl players. for archers, prefecture archers is better now than namkhan (for me) namkhan weaker than before.

@@rlifeh u need to max out their level to see why namkhan are much more superior than prefecture archer in term of damage output. unless u use archer just to hunt other archer since prefecture archer's arrow rain outrange anything thats not vassal longbowmen.

I still think its one of the most useful units in siege, it might not get the big kills but it's absoloutely crucial in pushes, still encounter cav rushs in siege quite a lot as well:D

I'd actually say palace guards are better of a "starter unit" than paladins since you just need honor to unlock them, unlike paladins which requires unlocking 1 unit before it and then all of its challenges.

Had a match where 9 out of 15 players on my defending team played Range only builds. Of course the match ended quickly but at the minimum, I got over 160 unit kills. Don't go all range you guys! I rarely see "Good" range only players. Learn how to use your units and you will be a better player.

If you look at other KZbinrs who are actually good with their range units, you will see that its all about positioning your units in the correct place. Being agressive and not hiding or shooting at the walls. Seen so many range units shooting at a wall.
