That's why he didn't have any time for his son (Mehmed ll).But your question is why the sultan (Murad ll) at least did not say 'Hi' or anything else. Actually the kid (Mehmed ll) had also two elder brothers and their father (Murad ll) especially liked two elder sons than the kid (Mehmed ll). Kid Mehmed was a son of a concubine (most possibly, Medmed's mother was a concubine even many sources claimed her as the fourth wife of Sultan Murad ll) and his other two elder brothers were the sons of the (legal) wives of Murad ll. Usually the elder sons are given more importance than the younger one where the elders are the sons of legal wives. Sultan Murad loved his elder sons more than young Mehmed. Later when the elder brothers of Mehmed died, then Sultan Murad started to give importance to Mehmed. It is Sultan Murad who always stand with Mehmed and he was like an inspiration of Sultan (later) Mehmed ll.

Even though he was 80 he participated in the war against Byzantium army but unfortunately he fell ill. " The chief of army staff Yazid ibn Muawiya asked, "Do you need anything, Abu Ayyub?" To which Abu Ayyub replied, "Convey my salaams (Islamic greeting and farewell) to the Muslim armies and tell them, "Abu Ayyub urges you to penetrate deep into enemy territory, as far as you can go; and that you should carry him with you, and that you should bury me under your feet at the walls of Constantinople." At this, he died. Yazid ordered the Muslim army to fulfill his request, and they pushed back the enemy's forces until they reached the walls of Constantinople where Abu Ayyub was finally interred.". 800 years aftee this incident, Sultan Mehmed managed to fullfill the Prophet Muhammad's prophecy that the Muslim army will conquer Constantinople. At age 80, most people will be bedridden but not Abu Ayyub AlAnsari and many Prophet Muhammad companions. Such a quality unmatched by today Muslims.

So, it had been already been taken by smaller forces, twice. It wasn't impenetrable and no source says that other than...well this joke of a film. It seems your knowledge of history is based on such "sources" because you seem to forget that the ones getting slapped time adn again were you. From the small uprising in Morea 1821 the Turks were getting slapped and losing territories, Thessaly, Crete, Epirus, Macedonia, Thrace, the Aegean islands. That last part was so easy, the entire Turkish fleet was defeated and turned tails against...a single Greek ship. The fear of Turks against Greek navy has even led them to lose a battle and a ship just because of a rumor of the Greek navy approacing Cyprus in 1974. You're lucky it didn't really approach. Anyway, the last great battle was fought outside your own capital so while you have never won a war in Europe since the 19th century. Talk about who never learns...

They had great respect for art culture innovation. In their time many war machines have been invented. Respect every religion because every religion says peace is above everything. actually Sultan Mehmet II, he legalized the practice of killing of the Sultan's brothers once they are on the throne in order to ensure stability of the dynasty and avoid power conflict. it may prove effective. but the cost was great. he may be reverred as a great conqueror but on the other side, he introduced the most hideous law in ottoman history.

This is a masterpiece and the thing is, that its highly accurate even in its minute details. Alot of other historical series are altered to make one side look good and the other bad or to gather useless sympathy for the victor's side but Mehmed II was every bit as kind and considerate, in addition to having unshakable will power as shown here
