They were dehydrated and not dressed for the desert. How can you fight in chainmail and a bucket helmet in that climate without burning up completely and dying from heat stroke? It doesn't make sense the way the Crusaders dressed. They should have worn Byzantine armor instead of the heavy chainmail meant for fighting in cold winter climates like Germany and Austria. It just doesn't make sense really.

Such a coward Salauddin was.. he blocked the way to the river for Crusaders who were thirsty and near to dehydration. Salauddin should've allowed his enemy to drink water, and fight fairly against them on the battlefield. People may say "seige" as a war tactics but no its actually not.. for Indian kings seige means "doing unfair with your opponents", not giving them equal chance. There were war rules in Ancient and early medieval India, like not to fight after dawn, sharing foods and drinks with enemies if needed, honoring the fallen bodies of Enemy soldiers, not to attack with weapons to an unarmed enemy soldier, Surrendering enemies should be spared and taken hostage, giving equal and fair chances to opponents etc.. I think these were the weaknesses of Indian rulers what foreign invaders took advantage later on.

why u bother it? In military terms it's called strategies and tactics and it's fair to outsmart your enemy, because war is not just about muscle but involving brains. Did u aware what makes this war happened in the first place? The prologue on this video said "the crusade were slaughter the civilian and the pilgrim to Mecca" do you think killing civillian is more honorable than winning a war by outsmarting them?
