Conquest Lunatic, Chapter 13: Odin is Dumb.

A quick and dirty demonstration of Odin's fantastic power in the first few turns of Chapter 13 in Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest on Lunatic Difficulty.

So how would you transition this Odin to later chapters assuming no special strats? Promote him to Sorcerer and keep tanking or just use him like Leo as a Dark Knight?

Sorcerer to retain Nosferatu access. I’m not sure what you mean by “special strats,” though. You do want him to pick up Vantage at some point before you do his daughter's paralogue, and then later go back into Master of Arms to grab Life and Death as well, if you’re not just replacing him with his daughter.

I make him a Dark Knight you to put him in character, he is really tanky and with her daughter he can carry me a lot in Hard Mode even with mediocre skills, someday I'm going to try Conquest Lunatic and make him and Ophelia stronger.

Heeey, I just found you while I was searching for some Odin Lunatic Conquest to see what people think about him. You are the one that keeps commenting on Mekkah stream chat right? Nice to see someone else that has the deep appreciation for Nosferatu Odin. When I see people saying that he sucks, mainly on the early game, it hurts a little that they don't know this strategy. Anyway, great video, I didn't know about this strategy. If it was with any other wyvern, like Camilla, would it work? Probably you have some support bonus with elise. What is your opnion about Nyx btw? Think she is better than Odin as a lot of tier lists say?

You could make this work with Camilla, yes. Elise is giving Odin 2 points of Magic here, and Camilla does the same, although she gives 1 less Def. My opinion is that Nyx is probably the worst unit in Conquest. She's workable, to be sure, but she starts out with stats that are set up exactly the wrong way to do anything on enemy phase: she has too much Magic and too little Hit to Nostank efficiently, and with any other tome, she wants an early Dark Knight promotion to salvage her defenses. But then the things she can achieve in Conquest 10-14 can still be done better by other units without spending the Master Seal on them. She's an early-promotion option who only does well in the easiest part of the game, and then her performance falls of a cliff, and it takes even more investment to make her do anything else vaguely worthwhile (for example, as a pair-up not).

@@Zoran501 Yeah, I agree that Nyx is probably the worst unit of conquest. With such low skill and luck, she strugles too much on hitting things. I believe she has the lowest growths total in the game too. Anyway, I used this strategy of yours two days ago. Never reached chapter 20 so fast, in one day, so thanks! Unfortunately, I turned my xander into a wyvern lord before kitsune map, and forgot to make the invasion map 2 before it. Now I'm without someone to handle the maids and merchants on the botton, and don't know if Odin could handle them. Btw, do you think getting duelist blow and vantage for Odin on mozu paralogue, them turning him back with the second heart seal that haitaka gives you a good idea? I saw that you made a video about it on chapter 14 but I thought it could be easier on mozu's paralogue.

You can go for Vantage that early, but I don’t like it. That requires both of the early Heart Seals, which is extremely restrictive for the rest of the team. For the most part, Odin can do his Nosferatu thing without Vantage until promoted enemies become common in chapter 16.

@@Zoran501 Oh yeah, I did that because my current playthrough is a No castle, No DLC, No children, Lords and Retainers only. Otherwise I'd use on Mozu to turn into a archer for chapter 9 and 10.

Vantage on Nos!Odin is genius but using 2 heartseals on one unit is kinda pricy...

this comment is kinda old but you don’t have to do that! around chapter 14 you can reclass odin to samurai and pass vantage down to ophelia and use her in odin’s stead, only requiring one heart seal.

@@ralvo9819 thanks but Odin is MUCH better at Nos-Tanking than Ophelia, with his vastly higher HP and DEF stats. also you can't double with Nosferatu so Ophelia's speed goes to waste.

Nice... except you are wasting experience on a useless character, on top of squandering a hefty 4.000 just to make him SLIGHTLY viable. Isn't it just better to play the chapter "normally" and bench the guy as soon as you get him in chapter 8, or using him as a pair up bot for (WR) Elise?

Doesn’t this video show that he isn’t useless? This guy’s chapter 10 video shows Odin doing much of the same in an area nobody is competing for and making the chapter easier. I’m not sure how often Odin hits the benchmarks he needs to, but clearly he isn’t just useless lol

@@mousefire777 yup, he is. He has terrible growths, he doesn't actually shine in any of his two lines and, more importantly, he requires a lot of investment to make him remotely decent. The only reson why you want to keep him around is to get an S support with Elise. Other than that, he's a complete waste of resources.

ソ連と鶏卵-紫 I thought Odin was bad too, but this is making me change my mind. He fills a strong niche as a nosferatu tank. He has good skill and luck to consistently hit, and the guard stance mechanic synergizes well with it. I don’t know if this is enough to make him top tier or anything, but I think this is enough to make him pretty viable at least. edit: Also, what's the story with your name? Soviet union and eggs - purple? Not judging, it's interesting but also kinda nonsensical to me lol

@@mousefire777 I see your point, but still think there are better ways to spend those 4000 gold. Also, if you use him extensively like this youtuber is doing, he'll be stealing exp that should go to better units. If you don't use him extensively, than what's the point of having him aniway? Finally, in the mid-late game he sucks ass, as his damage will be too low to heal him enough to stay alive, and enemy will simply deal too much damage. Yup, my nickname is complete nonsense. Dunno why I chose it.

​@@SorenToKeiran-Murasaki It's a bit of a fallacy to think a character is bad because he "steals" from units that are better later. He's probably not stealing more than 1 level on average from your main squad, which makes very little difference. And even if you drop him after chapter 10, he made chapter 10, the hardest early game chapter, easier. I could see the argument that it's more worth it to use the nosferatu money to buy seals, though.
