very nice - thank you for sharing. You can walk much of the old higher line used before this lower/longer tunnel was built, the huge old snowsheds are particularly interesting.

This is great. Keep in mind the old line was electrified for a short two years, so the window of recording was super short. Excellent.

As far as I've been able to find, the first minute or two of this video has the only footage of the old cascade tunnel and route on Steven's Pass through Wellington on the internet. Does anyone know if any other footage exists or where to find it?

This one doesnt tell you that the big reason for the tunnel was due to a drastic avalanche. Lot of lives were lost. I have been thru the tunnel was was a young kid. My stepdad worked for Great Northern, and then merged with Burlington Northern.
