As Omni-Man points out later, the reason Conquest lost was because he wasn't taking the fight seriously until it was too late, that in the end Conquest's worst failure was that he was never really willing to risk everything. Conquest didn't treat Mark as a seriously threat until seconds away from death and by then he was as good as dead.

Nola IS really strong, one of the strongest characters in the entire series. He is in the top 5 pretty much until he dies. Thragg and battlebeast are just number 1 and number 2 Nolan is probably number 4 after allen. Conquest is stronger than mark, sure, but he still lost twice against a version of invincible who is substantially weaker than Nolan.

@@ppikach64 It's the classic donut attack. Happens all the time in anime/manga, and the spine always ceases to exist for the duration of the attack. Characters who survive donuts are usually all better by the next chapter (except for My Hero Academia, donut attacks are super dangerous in that universe). Also, Titan Shifters can heal from any injury so long as nobody drinks their spinal fluid.

Mark surely got much much more durable since their last battle. Conquest landed good 3 blows on Mark up close into his stomach and he still hold it until the very end. 6:31 Conquest hits Mark with his metal arm. Mark doesn't let him go. 6:37 Conquest changes his arm and hits Mark again. But Mark ain't giving it up. 6:46 Conquest's third blow in a row right into Mark's stomach again with metal arm. Mark would rather die than release his grab. Also add few hits from flying around and hitting the ground/environment. He got a God damn hole in his body but still got power to freaking body slam Conquest into the ground.

I agree the first fight was better, but to me, it fits that conquest dies here because mark is FINALLY finishing off his nemesis (until thragg) and the scourge to his planet and the galaxy, and a choke is an act of such desperation to save his brother and family. This series is amazing.

Everything needs blood and oxygen maybe thats why he died so easily. The combined pressure of no oxygen or blood going to your brain would kill them as easily as it kills us.

Mark isn't really trying to fight Anissa, he tries to run from her multiple times as he's not really supposed to be fighting Viltramites at that point in the story. Anissa doesn't care though and more or less forces him to do what she wants. Mark doesn't put up much of a fight and later this fact comes to haunt him. With Conquest, Mark was going balls-to-the-wall ALL OUT on that dude, he was going to kill him no matter what, even if he died in the process. As you can see, it's a difference in motivation.

The reason mark won is not because of plot but because conquest never saw mark as a worthy opponent and kept underestimating him for both fights and when conquest is on the edge of life and death he finally realizes he needs to kill mark so that’s why he pierced a hole through mark but by that point he didn’t have any strength left and was killed by mark who put everything he had and more into this fight and won so no he didn’t win because of “plot”that these people keep emphasizing

Not to mention we have later showings of nolan beating mark on an arm wrestling contest and thragg admitting himself that nolan is the most fit to rule after him (and as a believer in the old ways, only the strongest could rule) Nolan would have defeated conquest with less trouble than mark had. He was a war hero entrusted to the toughest missions of the empire, like defeating the space racer or eliminating viltrumite weaknesses. Missions conquest tried and failed miserably, like we see in a flashback.

@@lorenzoherreros6641 in the anissa case mark was actually mentally unstable and wasn't fighting to kill her like he was with conquest, and in the arm wrestling we see that mark clearly was going to win but let his dad take the victory because he thought anissa was observing his dad, and nolan is not stronger than conquest because as tragg himself states conquest was the strongest after him Mark not only was strong enough to blood choke conquest to the point of making the blood into his head destroy his brain(that's why conquest died) but also was fast enough to catch him before conquest could get to oliver Conquest himself recognizes that mark might be even stronger than his father already at that point

Conquest was able to easily toss aside Nolan and punch through Mark. I’d give them both a speed advantage over Conquest, with Nolan being the fastest. This is evidenced when Mark was able to catch and tackle Conquest into the planet and later on when Nolan had to help Mark keep pace when they destroyed Viltrum.
