Unlike the first time he faced off against his dad, this time you can almost feel the fear in mark, because despite how much tougher he's gotten he knows how an all out battle with him like this will turn out. What I especially like about this is how the trauma makes him move smarter instead of freezing up

@@ThyBait It’s very hard for Mark to read the books completely ignorant of what they were and still come to the conclusion that the books are specifically designed to record viltrumite weaknesses, but I can see it being a slight stretch. However, Nolan was the one who told the Coalition about the true remaining population of viltrumites so Thaedus wouldn’t have that info to offer Mark anyway, so that would at the very least raise an eyebrow or keep the chat going for an extra second or two. And that is correct, as soon as the viltrumites discovered Nolan was the heir of Argall they immediately turned on Thragg and proclaimed Nolan their one true leader, there’s no reason to presume they wouldn’t do it again in a heartbeat. Remember, NO ONE (non-viltrumites anyway) knows Thragg’s sole purpose as Grand Regent is to find the missing heir, we are not even sure if people outside of the Empire even know about those particulars to begin with. As for the names, no one knows Thaedus is the first viltrumite deserter who also killed Emperor Argall, as far the Empire knows that bloke could be long since dead.

I like how going into this scene the audience knows Nolan does love his family but at this point in his life, the Viltrum ways are so indoctrinated into his mind he can’t fathom the idea that he can ever escape the grasp of the Empire. He had dedicated his whole life to it and the fact that Mark tells him in the future he just throws it away as if it was that simple is an insult to everything he believed about himself. It’s literally only a few issues some weird alien plant thing makes mark in his younger body if It’s time travel or alternate reality we don’t know at the end the plant ask mark if he would like to live in this new timeline free of all his mistakes he made before but he declines because than his daughter would never have been born the plant calls mark out and says that’s what a hero would do and he says being a hero is bullshit it’s dope as fuck but this story is very relatively short lived

Keep in mind even with his additional training and having kept his power Secrets long as he could I'm the man could have still killed Mark at almost any time during this fight. The main reason why the fight was happening is because from I'm the man's perspective he's trying to knock some sense into his son to essentially protect him yes it's kind of screwed up is a Brian Banner Bruce Banner kind of thing but that's where I'm the man is coming from
