Conquests of the Longbow Bad Ending

The worst possible ending on Conquests of the Longbow: The Legend of Robin Hood.
This particular ending is pretty much impossible to get unless you're DELIBERATELY trying to get it. Anyone who can figure out a way to get to the end can figure out how to avoid this ending. And I'm sure most of you who played it didn't make all the mistakes neccessary to see this ending. So, I decided to put it up for you.

There are six possible endings for this game depending on ransom raised, number of outlaws who are on your side, and score. Most games have one or two bad endings but a quest with 7325 possible points! deserves more.

Yes, that's a terribly played game there! I can't believe that King Richard pardoned your men for 300 gold marks or that you finished the game with only 980 points! I always know I'm doomed & restore a saved game if I miss or lose the archery contest or choose a bad plan to get the treasure chest. I know I won't have enough ransom at the finish. I also restore whenever Maid Marian dies.

I knew that this bad ending existed, but I never could bring myself to act the scoundrel when playing this game, so I never saw it until now. I much prefer the happy ending. :)

That was a very sad ending. I didn't like it. Robin Hood is better than that. He is a good character.

wow, really? that was literally the last thing you had to do in the game. what happened?

Not that I know of. I only have it because I had it years ago and used an older computer to convert it to CD. I do know that's its a available as abandonware but I don't think that's what you meant.

I love these VGA games by Sierra but have never played this. It seems as hard and great as the Kings Quest games. Is it any legal way to still get this?

Well, generaly it was accepted that if someone owned some land, they also owned the animals on it, and therefore killing said animals was considerd as stealing, in a sence. (At least, that's what I think.) It actualy it still in effect to this day: Some farmers in england have been known to charge hunters to shoot on their land, and killing animals on the Queen's land is considered ileagal.
