Conrad didn’t know about them until after their first kiss and Belly literally downplayed her and Jeres interaction by calling them “a few kisses”. Conrad didn’t know Jere had feelings for her beyond that while Jere actually witnessed Conrad and Bellys growing relationship that summer and tried to interfere. But I agree, Belly never should’ve started anything with Jere and Jere should’ve tried to come in between them. He said it himself “there will always be something between you and Conrad”, he always knew.

Love this show so much, it's like one long vibe with all the music and montages! Also Conrad is so sweet even though he messes up a lot in this part of the story. It's so cool that these scenes have been added for Jeremiah and Conrad's relationship to develop their characters more fully than the books did. Gosh though. I really, really, so badly, wish that Amazon had chosen to release all the episodes at once for this particular show. It's not even because I don't want to wait! There's just not very much plot in each episode - which is okay, nothing wrong with that! But it means the weekly episodes make you wait so long for just tiny bit of the story. This episode, for example, covered one single afternoon and had a lot more small talk and walking around than plot. I dig that, but honestly the show is a better experience when you can watch all the episodes in one or two afternoons like one long movie :)

I am actually kind of mad at Conrad. This scene happens shortly before Halloween, so he's coming home and asks Jere if he had a date for prom. He answers that he took Blake- i don't know if they went as friend or date, but to me he doesn't seem happy. Then they talk about Belly and you can clearly see that it's hard for him to say that he is "okay" with them being together, but Conrad is just like "okay, thanks, bye" and then drives to Belly the same day or a few days after, cause the scene were he visits her is also shortly before Halloween and tells her that Jere is completely fine with them being together and is seeing other people. I mean he could have been honest with her and tell her the truth. Or he didn't even notice that it was hard for Jere, but idk

He should accept Jere's answer no matter what it is. Even if he said he doesn't accept it Conrad and Belly could be together, just not with his permission and that would be fine. But instead he wants to hear it from him so they don't have to feel bad. I really don't know how he could tell Belly that Jere is doing really good and is completely over her.

Yeah it's super shady. Jere is clearly not on a high and wouldn't have even brought up homecoming had Conrad not used it as an in to figure out if Jere was seeing someone. A simple "Jere gave his blessing", or "Jere doesn't want to stand in-between us", would have sufficed instead of painting it as though Jeremiah was doing great and not in pain.

according to my understanding I'm not sure when Jeremiah started falling in love with Belly. But from episode 5, It seems that he started to like her from the moment he saw her that day, if you notice carefully when Cam kissed Belly on the dining table. There was one second that Jeremiah didn't make a good face and then acted like he was going to throw up with Steven. As for the reason why he was so angry at them. I think it might because Cam is an outsider. As for Conrad, it's his brother, or because Belly kissed him, it made him feel even worse seeing Belly with someone else. especially his own brother. And don’t forget that Belly kissed Jeremiah before Conrad

I am very disappointed in Belly this season. :) not only did she break Jeremiah’s heart. Not only did she make a scene at the funeral. Now after a while, the boys are still mourning their mother and belly still just plays with their hearts. Even asking Jeremiah why he didn’t want to kiss her a in front of Conrad - the guy she still loves - just because he was dared to - when she KNOWS how he feels for her. She is like a selfish person who just wants to hear him say it to feel validated and wanted. She is playing with both of them. Like she is robbing me the wrong way in so many ways this season However. Jeremiah for the win. And Taylor and Steven are my favorite couple in this season. Their chemistry is flying through the screen.

Yeah, Belly is learning some hard lessons about dating in this season :( A lot of people have to learn them the hard way, and I think in that way it's at least realistic that she can't make up her mind or really understand how she's feeling right away. I love in season 1 how she brings up with her mom the issue of feeling "fireworks" for somebody and her mom talks about the opposite, the "cozy campfire". Everybody's a little different in what they want out of a relationship, and to me Jeremiah is the cozy campfire and Conrad is the fireworks. Belly will figure out what she wants but it'll take time.

Facts. The thing Is when they start making these shows you can never really fully guess how actors chemistry will be. Like yea they do chemistry reads but that's before actors really know ome another. Afyer people become familiar the chemistry can definitely change and get better or stay stagnant. In the books I know she ends up with Conrad and I'm typical I die hard go by the books person but for this show honestly I hope they follow the natural chemistry. Because out of the actors in the show she definitely has better chemistry with jeremiah. And its clear as day. I know the show isn't all done according to the books & if the end will really be like it is in the 3rd book. This episode showed how much Jere put his feelings aside so that Conrad can be with Belly & I give him credit for that, especially how much it's hurting him. It's challenging to deal with Conrad who's got lots of emotional issues & the way he treats Belly is a roller coaster ride that I wouldn't want to be on. I'm with Jere & I'm hoping it'll turn out different for him not like it is in the book.

When exactly did Conrad “always ignore belly?” On the flashback we see him teaching her about infinity and how to dance, winning her the stuffed bear so he always took an interest & spent time with her. Meanwhile Jer in flashbacks only stayed with belly bc his mom told him to. And honestly it feels very weird he gave permission for belly and Conrad to be together. He repeatedly tried to manipulate things to keep them apart last season so I struggle with the idea that he gets to decide on whether or not they should be together bc him and belly messed around for a week when everyone knew she’d loved Conrad for years.

Conrad always ignored Belly in the sense that he never saw her in a romantic light, NOT the way she saw him at least. I mean sure Conrad was always friendly towards her growing up but he never saw her the way she saw him until after that summer. He wanted every other girl except her. Conrad knew Belly had a big crush on him for years without saying a word and completely passed her over. Which was fine because you can never force someone to like you back but with that being said it just goes to show that what he was looking for in all those other girls was standing right in front of him the whole time in Belly and he was too dense to see it. And apparently neither can Belly because Jeremiah was exactly that for her, fully seeing her the way she wanted to be seen and she only ever saw Conrad who continuously keeps dropping the ball when it comes to her. So I guess when Conrad and Belly have that in common then they really are made for each other. SMH. 🙄🤦🏾‍♀️ And as for Jeremiah “giving” his blessing to them. And it wasn’t so much as Jere giving them his blessing it was really just Conrad squeezing the life out of him in order to force it out of Jere. He gave it to them because he knew how guilty both Conrad and Belly felt for being together in front of him knowing he still loved Belly. As if Jere was the one keeping them apart and hurting them, but it wasn’t him it was them. So it’s not a matter of Jeremiah deciding wether or not they should be together but Conrad and Belly’s guilt in doing so. They just felt guilty because they would be parading around town with their happiness and Jere’s feelings wouldn’t be reciprocated.

@@ashleychristina2001 simply put..Jeremiah is an unreliable narrator bc of his bias. He has resentment for Conrad & some jealousy bc their father was closer to Conrad. He was always going to have a tainted view of Conrad & his feelings for belly. For that matter Belly is also unreliable bc of her insecurities. You look at a simple scene like Conrad taking her to the game stand at the fair. Jer probably thought nothing of that. From belly’s perspective Conrad asked her to go but just wanted to be around another girl. In reality Conrad didn’t mind getting to know that girl but he asked belly bc he wanted to spend some time alone with her. He stayed at the game & spent $40 bc he wanted to win junior mint for belly bc he’d seen her staring at the polar bears every time they went. He had feelings for her. This is made even more clear when Conrad describes his love for belly as the process of gradually waking up. It wasn’t one moment that changed his feelings for her they had always been there. Yes there absolutely was guilt on their part bc minute one they said they didn’t want to hurt him. But Jeremiah is also accountable. He condemned belly. It was basically you chose him so never speak to me again. The difference being that while Conrad was ignorant to Jer’s feeling for belly in s1 Jer knew how they both felt but inserted himself into a situation that was in no way settled then blamed them when he got hurt. That’s why in the finale he said if they got back together he wouldn’t interfere again and he would be good with belly bc he knew and owned that fact he made it difficult for them the first time around.

I loved this episode because it showed how Jeremiah loved Belly since day one but he knew he didn’t stand a chance because he always thought it was Conrad and like he told Conrad he didn’t want to be the reason they couldn’t be together! He kept his feelings at bay! His own mother even said you are still in love with her and how he fakes being ok when he’s hurting! I honestly felt bad and I felt like Conrad was rubbing it in Jeremiah’s face a little at thanksgiving and belly was being considerate when she let go of Conrad’s hand because she knew it was too early and too soon! I hope they take a break from Belly and Conrad because I feel like belly never really have Jeremiah a chance since she was using him to get over Conrad when she should not have done that! She's avoiding Conrad simply because it's awkward and she's not ready to face what happened the last time they saw eachother and how they left things. It's honestly sad to see how both of them take Jeremiahs feelings completely for granted. Like, they don't care, and it's not coming across as some star-crossed love to me, It's coming across as one almost grown person and one already grown person not knowing how to COMMUNICATE and lead a healthy relationship..It's honest to god really bad, Conrad should not let Belly go, he should also shut down the entire idea of her running to his brother everytime she gets her feelings hurt, like if belly is really "IT for you" why even entertain the idea of her being with someone else much less your own brother. He's always treating Jeremiah like a child who knows nothing "Grow up", but really Conrad has some serious maturing to do, if anything I would say Jere is the more mature person here.

While I do believe that Belly & Conrad are in love, she hasn't told Jere she doesn't like him as more than a friend (something she was able to do with Cam) and I think it has less do with her not wanting to hurt him, but more about her potentially having feelings for Jere

Jeremiah is literally setting himself up for failure and heartbreak. He’s known all their lives that it was always going to be Conrad for Belly. He’s known they have feelings for each other so I don’t understand why he even tried to get with her in the first place. He can’t be mad at them when he did it to himself. Belly said it herself she’ll never love anyone the way she loves Conrad. Jere deep down knows this and knows they belong together, he will literally always be second place bc she only goes to him when she’s unsure of where she stands with Conrad. Also even Jeremiah said Belly and Conrad have this invisible force towards each other.

@@likhwezititus actually Conrad wouldn’t do that to them in fact he lets them be together bc for one he knows he’s not in the right headspace to be able to be with Belly the way she deserves and for two bc he thinks that she’d be happier in a relationship with Jere even though Con is still wildly in love with her he lets her try to be happy despite his own feelings so she can maybe be happy. Even though in the long run we know that doesn’t work and she’ll never love anyone including Jere the way she loves Conrad. So no he wouldn’t do what Jere is doing at all bc he loves them both too much. Jere is jealous and only thinking about himself, his “love” for Belly is only surface level attraction meant to make himself believe he’s better than Conrad.

Jere's hurt, but he takes no accountability for 1) screwing his friend's chance over to kiss the guy she liked that he has always known she has liked by shooting a firework at her. 2) continually screw her over by scheming to get Nicole to "distract" Conrad 3) then jump on her as she was vulnerable about Conrad and not give her at least a moment to sort out her feelings knowing full and well she wasn't over Conrad... Continually scheming? The Nicole concert thing came up twice max in ONE episode. Also Conrad was literally dating Nicole that summer, so it wasn't that crazy that she continue spending time with him. The firework thing was incredibly petty. HOWEVER, no one forced Conrad to gaslight Belly the next day and pretend like the moment between them didn’t happen. “Jump on her” is insane. He at a distance told her he had feelings and ASKED if she could feel the same. Nobody forced Belly to say yes and kiss him. I get shipping Bonrad over Jelly, but the main thing stopping Bonrad in S1 was Conrad’s own resistance to opening up to Belly.
