Beating Corporate Rock will launch Romans baby face run that WWE always wanted. Cody’s chase will end, he’ll get a hell of a run as champ while this Rock and Roman stuff plays out. Then he can start fueding for the Heavyweight Championship without it being a step down.

I don't think they wanted to make Cody look weak giving up his spot on purpose I think that it just had to be that way at the moment because the order was to give the rock the spot and let's start promoting the main event match now in time for that kickoff show in Vegas Super Bowl weekend... but then the fans took a shit on it. If McMahon was still booking I would say I agree with you because all bets were off. You put the rock on the board of directors with all the strings he has attached to Ari Emanuel the guy that runs TKO it makes perfect sense to assume that Hunter booked the Rumble without knowing that Ari and Rock had already decided Rock was going to be in the main event. That's why all of this got fucked up. Makes perfect sense. And if that's exactly what happened, I'm just glad to see that they are being flexible about it and that they weren't dead set on whatever they wanted because if it was McMahon booking he would have been *dead set* on what *he* wanted. We don't know for sure, we may never know. But what makes me think it's true is this: They have Cody win the rumble which lights the fuse on his rocket. Back to back Royal Rumble winner then points that Roman Reigns, great Sports type story and we start the hype for Wrestlemania Then less than a week later he's groveling to The Rock and saying "it's just not going to be at Wrestlemania" on some weak shit. If they really mapped that out to get the kind of reaction that they got... well they walked a tightrope and got super lucky. That really could have buried Cody. It already kind of buried Rock... Rock had nothing but positivity coming in and then in an instant a lot of the weekly viewers were turning on him. Why would you do that on purpose? What seems more plausible to me is what Conrad laid out. It doesn't really matter all that much in the long run how or why they arrived at what they have arrived at, but it's interesting.

The thing is some just forget The Rock was set to face Roman at WM 39 he said in an interview 7 months ago. It was locked in but with Vince pushing his way back in and the merger he put it off till after the merger. 7 months ago he even said WM 40 in PA. Rock vs Reigns was indeed planned. Roman and Rock spent Years being asked each and every interview about WM between them. It's been hyped a long while and is why the Bloodline story was made. Rock said Best way is to turn Roman heel(in an interview about a year or two ago. Cody got the match last year because The Rock seemingly disnt want to return during all the Vince mess. This idea he stole from Cody is just false and either just a part of the story with Punks Injury or its whatever. So many just forget these actual details out there. The Rock and Roman have a story and their story has a right to be told too. I'm tired of hearing people claim he abused his power when he's been promoting it since 7 months prior Wm 40. Here’s a crazy idea, the Rock isn’t stupid and knows he can’t have a one on one match against Roman and the WWE did everything this way, because they knew it would make Cody an even bigger star and it protects the Rock. If anything, WWE made a great case to have a triple threat match. Rock wants to prove he is head of the table. He's made at Cody for reneging on his deal. Cody is mad at Rock for seemingly deceiving him. And Cody and Reigns have existing heat. It's brilliant.

The Rock winning the Rumble would have got his huge signature surprise pop but I still think once the dust settled fans would have turned. Especially knowing his position in TKO now and with the overall perception that he's only looking out for himself and members of his family which isn't entirely inaccurate. Here's the problem with Konnan talking about Rock's numbers: one, he's NEVER GONNA BE A FULL TIMER AGAIN. The dude is almost 51 fucking years old. He's older than Hogan was the last time Hogan won the title. So you can't make Rock your number one guy, because he can't be. Two, any bump you get from Rock from lapsed fans or whatever? It's not gonna stick. WWE has done this same strategy over and over and over again, and there hasn't been any consistent rise in the week to week audience. The smart thing to do is to invest in MAKING a guy like Cody, who's relatively young and is gonna be your full time face of the company guy, more of a household name. That's what WWE hasn't done well in probably almost 20 years, and exactly why the only new household name to come up since about 2003 or so is John Cena, MAYBE Roman, but Roman also got a boost from being related to Rock.

My personal opinion is that a lot of things changed because of unforeseen circumstances. Punk injury. Brock becoming a pariah. Seth not being 100%. I think the plan was cody v roman with rock ambiguosly in romans corner but maybe screwing him over to help cody, then leading to rock v roman. But plans changed on the fly because tko felt there wasnt enough star power for 2 nights. But the fans have faith in the current roster. Even with the injuries and unforeseen circumstances so many other stars cam step up and make things fun and unpredictable. Thats a testament to triple hs commitment to developing so many intertwining storylines and characters, but the higher ups in tko got cold feet.

I think this all quite obvious, but then again, I've thought that a few times lately, and was well off. That said, it's seems to me when Cody said he was taking everything but "not a wrestlemania", and he brought the Rock out, the words matter. He didn't say he wouldn't take the title from Roman at Wrestlemania. Rock also said in the initial appearance with Jinder, he was coming for the head of the table. Put it all together. I think Rock is playing heel only to turn face at Mania and turn on the blood line as they try to interfere with the Cody Roman title match. Rock will even the playing field for Cody. This then sets up Rock V Roman at some other point down the line and allows Cody to move on to other challenges. You keep hearing the Rock etc talk about long term story telling and all we are thinking about is Wrestlemania. I trust Hunter in this, I've a feeling this is going to be a great 6 to 12 months of story telling after Mania is done and Cody will be our new champion at Mania.

The thing is some just forget The Rock was set to face Roman at WM 39 he said in an interview 7 months ago. It was locked in but with Vince pushing his way back in and the merger he put it off till after the merger. 7 months ago he even said WM 40 in PA. Rock vs Reigns was indeed planned. Roman and Rock spent Years being asked each and every interview about WM between them. It's been hyped a long while and is why the Bloodline story was made. Rock said Best way is to turn Roman heel(in an interview about a year or two ago. Cody got the match last year because The Rock seemingly disnt want to return during all the Vince mess. This idea he stole from Cody is just false and either just a part of the story with Punks Injury or its whatever. So many just forget these actual details out there. The Rock and Roman have a story and their story has a right to be told too. I'm tired of hearing people claim he abused his power when he's been promoting it since 7 months prior Wm 40. Look it up the interviews are on youtube.. Paul hung him out to dry clearly but this match was planned already guys why not actually research. The Rock is a part owner with voting power stock. Due to his movies and how he has to be very careful not to risk injury while filiming its pretty bs that this was in the plans over a year and he attemoted to change that match if he did. Its clear he did. But The Rock is his boss and a owner now. When Triple H was on the board he only has normal stock not the same like The Rock carries.

Roman cannot lose to anyone but Cody first. It makes no sense any other way. The best thing they can do now since Rock's ego has ruined the situation is have Cody beat Roman for the title at Elimination Chamber and then Roman goes into Wrestlemania without the title to fight Rock for the head of the table. Rock beats Roman and Roman loses everything just like Cody said on Smackdown.

Triple H is trying to serve too many masters and it's confusing the hell out of the smart audience (the WWE fanboys will like everything as long as there's WWE written over it) the whole booking of Cody doesn't make sense ever since he won the Rumble and The Rock insertion in the storyline has no purpose other than distracting the casual audience from Vince allegations. When Vince had a booking plan he always stuck with it, Triple J seems to have no plan for WrestleMania to make sense of this mess

I honestly believe that most of this controversy is not so much about the Rock coming in as it has more to do with everyone wants to see the end of Roman's title reign. Everyone knows Cody will be the one to end it, and they don't want the story to be dragged any longer than it has to be. Bloodline story is starting to feel like the NWO story, which dragged way to long over the expiry date.

I say have Rock versus Cody on Night One and have Rock lose because of a distraction created by either Roman or Jay who is trying to get back into the Bloodline. Then on Night Two a pissed off Rock turns face again and causes Roman to lose to Cody. Cody gets the belt and then Rock either leaves until next Wrestlemania of next year or they have Rock remain around to have his match with Roman at Summeslam. They have Rock go through the other members of the Bloodline one Pay Per View at a time before he gets to Roman who will be trying to get his belt back from Cody in all of the Pay Per Views up until SummerSlam. CM Punk can then return from injury to become Cody's next big rival.
