CONRAIL 1999 My last look of the Pittsburgh Mainline before NS

These are the last videos I got of Conrail before the June 1, 1999 takeover of NS's half of Conrail. CSX and NS split Conrail on that date..
Locations are on the Pittsburgh Mainline.
Latrobe, Hillside, CP PACK Torrance, Pack Saddle, Bolivar, South Fork, Summerhill, Johnstown and Cresson,

I know some of the people that worked at Penn Central and the other railroads that were merged into Conrail did not like Conrail. It was sad that many rail lines were abandoned and employees lost their jobs but I can't imagine what might have happened to the eastern rail network without the merger. I might add that it was nice to see some future merger partners in the video.
