In 1991 that was the only tower standing between Columbus and Pittsburgh on the former PRR Panhandle. 3:00 - Eastbound CSX at Moler St. in Columbus. 3:46 - CP-139/Russ in Columbus on the Conrail Cincinnati Line with nearby Scioto Tower. 4:48 - Back on the C&N in Newark. Former ND Cabin home signal in distance. 5:03 - 1st St., Newark. The end of the one-time joint PRR-B&O C&N Division (Columbus & Newark). --- Right-of-way surveys along the former PRR Panhandle line east of Newark at the time of its sale to the Ohio Central. Nice catches! I like the classic EMD power, the Conrail blue, the CSX YN2, the Chessie System, and the B&O and C&O paint schemes, the ex PRR, NYC, and C&O tri-light signals as well as the B&O CPL signals! I also like the Leslie Air-Horns as well! Really nice!

I wonder how much the PRR spent on those dramatic line changes in eastern Ohio, and whether they influenced Santa Fe’s Crookton Cutoff or the CNO&TP realignments in Kentucky and Tennessee.

Loving the melancholy footage of the Panhandle, it was nearly dead east of Coshocton before Ohio Central began operations.
