I grew up a couple miles from the C&O mainline out of Columbus that went up to Toledo. In 1980 I was 12 years old and me and my best friend spent hours and hours during those long summer days down at the tracks watching trains go by either at the Linworth Rd. crossing or the Snouffer Rd. crossing. Wish I could go back in time to watch those Chessie Geeps and their cabooses again.

I would love to see videos of the towers at Pennor Crossing, Piqua, and Bradford...

I'm always impressed by the work of those who knew how to make the most of the limitations of 8mm/Super8 film. In-camera editing is a lost art. Enjoying your films!

The way those trailer carriers sway it’s amazing they didn’t derail more often with all that weight on top

Is that Conrail train at Tiffin running on the Toledo Line?
@RailroadMediaArchive5 жыл бұрын
Yes. It crossed the B&O on a series of switches as opposed to a diamond.

+Railroad Media Archive is that sterling Ohio in this video? It’s in Wayne county Ohio I think. I’m from Medina County

I think one reason why these towers were still operating was because the railroads didn’t have the money to automate these crossings.

Was this filmed by Todd Miller / Paul Geiger?
@RailroadMediaArchive6 жыл бұрын
This was filmed by Todd. You can actually hear Paul on the block line at Frankfort St. working at Buckeye.

Are those towers still there
@JTrepasso6 жыл бұрын
Jmream2 besides AC which is a museum now, no. Dunkirk tower on the PRR Fort Wayne line still stands.

Jmream2 MD cabin as well in Marion is still standing, a mile north of AC on the C&O

I’ve been to Marion many times, but I never knew about MD! Looks like a CTC panel that had two center sidings in its purview.

@@fakecumberland MD controlled the center siding at MD, and the now gone one at MA Cabin (the current MA Cabin was the west end of the siding).
