Wow, super video, so many memories. Thanks for putting all your films onto KZbin. I live about an hour away from Southend Airport and used to visit there regularly as I had friends who flew there. I had no idea the 'Skymonster' still existed...and even better is here in the UK. I hope she doesn't get scrapped. If only a museum could afford to move her.

You had great foresight to film this knowing that it would be super enjoyable in the future.

They need to show this ultra rare video on Ice Pilots NWT if it’s still a thing. The UK heritage is even deeper than I thought, Electra and this Canadian hybrid. Fantastic ❤

I worked for Transmeridian in the late 60s early 70s and flew in this monster the (guppy) one time i remember her grounded because of main spa cracks
@propman35235 жыл бұрын
Yes, indeed, thank you. The CL-44 was a beautiful plane, so much so that I am, as an American, envious that it wasn't one of ours, although I do love the Electra! If I'm not mistaken either Icelandic or Bahamas Air flew them, but I was just a tad too young to fly on them before I got into the travel business. How sad for such a great adaptation. Can't some aviation museum step up and claim her. Please don't show us scenes of her being chewed up for scrap. That's just heart breaking.
