One of the best things about the prisma tanks was their beams reflecting from any vehicle or infantry. And when some sturdy unit was in the center of enemy base, attacked by prisma tanks we called it "The mirror". Firing the Apocalypse tank in enemy base with a bunch of prismas caused the base destruction in some minutes thanks to that feature. 😁

To be honest, that powerful scattershot feature should have had friendly-fire enabled so the scattering can burn friendly units too. It was even mentioned by lieutenant Eva Lee in one of the cinematics in Free Gateway mission 8 - to not burn yourself with that new toy - boys at the lab call it Prism tech on wheels.

The best way to use prism tanks was always to move them towards the enemy base as slowly as possible so they start attacking the units coming at you at max range, otherwise if you just click on stuff they go too close and get killed immediately.

You don't click on stuff, you don't enter waypoint mode, you instead do the ctrl shift attack move.

Also, as has been shown, you can take advantage of bigger range and speed with any pursuers, not only conscripts, but also Apocalypse.

The Prism Tank was derived from the Red Alert 1 Tesla Tank who came before it. The Tesla Tank in RA1 was exactly like the Prism Tank - long range comparable to artillery, fries infantry and zaps vehicles with accuracy. And was actually good vs vehicles, but attacks did not have scattershot.

I've noticed that in Veteran vs Veteran, it made no difference for considerable numbers of Prism tanks to annihilate the sheer numbers of conscripts when they got promoted to Elite immediately. However, it is no argument that those tech tanks can be easily overwhelmed by infantry if fighting alone. Prism tanks have its fair share of Pros and Cons too. Pros will be its firepower, refractive shots and range. At Elite, it has longer range and stronger power and more refractive shots. Now for the Cons, It can't fire while mobile. Slow fire rate and weaker durability (which is why it makes up for its range and power).

Right, but I never use Prism's in groups of less then 5, at which point they will basically destroy anything and everything. As long as you don't engage groups of other tanks, there's nothing that can deal with them effectively. Nevermind the ability to Chrono (with Chronosphere) and just destroy two or three buildings in your base before you can do anything about it.

You can use ctrl shift to attack move prism tanks and they will auto fire into fog of war great for dealing with gap generators also can have them run away while shooting if you get the timing of attack move commands right. Prism tanks are a solid unit.

How do the veteran Prism tanks become Elite so fast? In the Green vs Green fight, none became veteran. How much more experience do units get from killing veteran enemies compared to green enemies?

@@spectre9065 Sure, but an unpromoted Conscript is worth $100 and a veteran one $200. A Prism Tank at $1200 would need to kill 19 - _nineteen_ - veteran Conscripts to promote to Elite under normal circumstances. For 82 Prism Tanks (I only see one non-elite at the end of the battle), there would need to be 1577 Conscripts in battle! And remember, that is ONLY if no elite Prism Tank kills any units and leaves them all for their veteran friends to eat! Something is off with the veteran Prism Tanks for sure!

@@HasekuraIsuna I checked your numbers and they seem ok/close. My explanation for this is that this might be double-counting. Remember in Tiberian Sun when Titans continued firing on dying Cyborg Reapers? Each shot on a dying Reaper continued to count as a kill. I suspect that many main/secondary/scatter beams are hitting the same Conscript at the same time.

@@HasekuraIsuna veteran conscript is valued at 300$ not 200$, and priam needs 3x it's value to promote, meaning one prism tank needs to kill value of 1200 × 3 which 3600 which is 36 normal conscripts or 12 veteran conscripts. The reason they got promoted so easily is likely because of their refractive shots killing several conscripts in one hit.

Because the conscripts could all concentrate their firepower on a single target. Meanwhile in the mass fire rounds, the prism tanks each do the opposite. Their shots split and hit multiple targets. So mass fire with Prism tanks destroy large numbers very easily, as each hit strikes five foes or so, and more than one of them will wipe out that small group before they get to fire.

Its not really a good comparison with the 1000 infantry. The way the infantry is deployed means only like 20 guys are at the front and able to fire, while all of the prism tanks can fire. 83 tanks vs 20 infantry obviously the infantry is going to get butchered. My bet is those tanks would be in a lot more trouble if the infantry came from multiple sides, allowing them to have more guys in firing range while denying the prism tanks the ability to focus fire on a small front.

That’s not a realistic enough scenario though. This is as close to reality we’re going to get without any special abilities and even then that’s debatable. The reality is massed prism tanks could be bonkers if allowed but it’s more of a meme. Mirage tanks are better until you begin sieging your opponent’s base.

A veteran conscript is worth double the value of a recruited conscript and the reflective beams from the prism tanks are hitting the same conscripts at the same time. Since they’re hitting the same targets at the same time and killing them at the same time, the 200 credit unit kill count is being applied to multiple prism tanks at the same time. Makes it much easier to mass rank prism tanks and don’t forget that prism tanks are only a handful of units that can kill multiple units at the same time. So maybe only after 19 conscript deaths, 19 prism tanks probably got promoted all at once per group and there’s only 83 of them. Super easy to rank them up.
