The right to self defense is actually a right, but there is no "right to freely travel". You have to have permission from the property owner to travel over their property. In the same way that you will say it's evil for someone to use force to run people off of lands they don't own, it should be evil to travel across lands you don't own but know are owned (trespassing). Both people know they don't have permission to be doing what they are doing. To be clear, NONE OF WHAT I JUST SAID IS IN DEFENSE OF FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAWS. Any implications you read are your own. All I am suggesting is that instead of arguing with conservatives about the morality of locking down the border, we shift focus to the dismantling of the welfare state. Nothing I have said would indicate that I think we should start locking down the border again with violence. What I am saying is that given the current state, the correct action is to dismantle the welfare state, which I believe is an argument conservatives would support and would support the efforts to move to a more libertarian state of existence. "Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves" - William Pitt

@LarkenRose Does it specifically say state? From what I read it said laws. It doesn't say if the laws are federal, state or territory. Now I do agree alot of the agencies are not constitutional because they are not enumerated powers. They way to make them constitutional would be to add an amendment to the constitution. The commerce clause, general welfare clause and the necessary clause doesn't mean what people think. Social security would also be considered unconstitutional, if it was followed as it should be. FDR made more unconstitutional laws than any president before him.

If you're going to have a country at all, quality of life for the people who were actually born there and trying to put down roots there ought to be an issue. Don't get me wrong, I know you cannot guarantee quality of life, but if you've got a place with more upwardly mobile people constantly coming and going, leaving the poorer more rooted people behind, what you've got is not a country but merely a place. I'm dead-set against it.

Gun possession and immigration are two completely different issues. Let people come and go constantly with no even penalty either way,, which is close to what we have now., means that people who were born here and don't have the money for all this constant traveling around, don't have a country but a bunch of weak and shifting sands. The constitution was written hundreds of years ago.

@@LarkenRose I don't know. I hate the government. I hate the media. I hate society. No. This is bad. This is like a bad joke that has long ceased being funny. What you do about immigration and exigration ( people leaving, which I also consider an issue, even if nobody else does)...I don't know.... but I am dead set against uncontrolled immigration and exigration. If you're going to have people constantly coming and going, basically in a way looting the country and never putting down roots, which is basically what we have now you have ceased to have a country that should have the right to even call itself such, what you've got is some kind of Hellish place on Earth. I am dead set against people constantly coming and going, there should be at the very least some kind of substantial discouragement from coming here and also the same for people leaving....if that's possible. The country should be for the poorest people who were actually born here or it shouldn't exist at all. I speak from bitter experience. The loyalty oaths that people were once required to say when they came here weren't a bad thing l.

Math. Let’s just focus on AR style rifles. No other kind of firearm, just ARs. There are 20,000,000 ARs in private hands in the US. If they were banned, and 90% of AR owners voluntarily turned in their ARs, that still leaves 2,000,000 AR style rifles in private hands, by people who refuse to give them up. So, if law enforcement confiscated 100 of these illegal ARs EVERY SINGLE DAY of the week, it would take 54 years to get them all. Maybe they can collect 1000 every single day, that would still take nearly five and a half years. Our nation can’t stay in a climate treaty for more than four years. Just say’n. Cocaine, heroin, and meth are banned completely, right? How’s that war on drugs been going for the past 50 years? Assuming you are able to get all ARs, you still have to contend with the other 500,000,000 guns, that aren’t ARs, that still remain in private ownership. The gun control debate is completely illogics from a simple mathematical stance. The genie is already out of the bottle, and there is no turning back. That’s the reality. So, you can argue with your friends who align with the opposite party all you want, but neither party can do anything about it. Americans are armed. That is not going to change. Welcome to reality.
