Just said the same on another video. They should leave and join Reform because Reform aren't gonna get anywhere without some big names, and at the moment you can change parties without a by-election - I happen to think that's wrong but it would mean Reform could have several MPs in place which would give them a great platform for the next GE. Simply seeing that senior Tories had moved over would possibly encourage others, but more importantly it would impress upon voters that voting Reform wasn't a wasted vote.

Remember when Labour and all the other "opposition" parties supported the government throughout the pandemic. Not once did they question government policies, allowing the government unprecedented powers to go through "on the nod." They are as much responsible as the government for the current mess. Not just HS2 but also other government spending, like foreign aid, needs to be reviewed.

We in the NW of England need better local transport and better East/West links, not north/south. Just imagine how many trucks from Scotland, the North and the Midlands could be taken off the motorway network, below Birmingham, if they utilised Hull on the east coast. I also live on a mainline train route between Manchester and Liverpool and the line still isn't electrified! We are often using old rolling stock, too.

Her response to relatives of those killed was the situation was ""complicated". A former TV presenter who lost her original seat then takes up George Osborne's safe seat and is back in. She should be in court for crimes against humanity and this will happen. The UN's Olivier de Schutter has announced his continuing concerns about the UK breaches in Human rights legislation but this TV presenter or Minister without a clue is a figurehead for the Tory party along with 30p Lee or Coffey.

They could save a shed load of cash if channel migrants were returned directly to their home country providing it is safe for them to do so. They should put advertising hoardings along along the French coast saying 'You will be repatriated to your home country if you enter Britain illegally'. In the main languages of the migrants.

It makes me livid that people keep trying to cancel HS2. Our railways are creaking at the seams - we need something like this. So much money has already been spent and they want to scrap it all and flush all that money down the loo? Utter luddites.

No wonder politics is polarising left and right, read the comments and everyone agrees because it fits their political persuasion. It's hardly poignant journalism.

We clearly do need trains. They're packed round our way where there's been no real investment for decades.

@@stevejones2310 no. We do not need trains. Strengthen work from home and upgrade our road network where capacity is lacking. And maintain local town and village bus routes. Trains are not needed

@@meradceu yeah, knock down a few buildings in the city centre and create some space for some more car parks. And knock down some more houses to widen the roads. And concrete over the railway tracks to create more roads. Great plan.
