No. 2 reasons, 1 it would be a total waste of time to spend months negotiating with people who will vote to stay as they will try to fuck it from the off. 2 It would influence public opinion. You vote then you have as much time as you need to sort something out. The answer can't just be 'no' because you think that the government couldn't implement it, that would defeat the object, they can but there are a lot of strong opinions to juggle.

While I think direct democracy is interesting, it does depend on an informed populace. The Brexit question needed a much more formal setting where issues could be raised and discussed in an orderly format in the hopes of thereby informing the populace about that complexity, not conducted with bullshit 3 word slogans on the sides of buses.

Entertainment-wise I agree. But while American Congressional sessions are just as divided and just as dysfunctional, at least Roberts Rules of Order allow a person to speak and require others to be quiet while (s)he does so. In my opinion It's a better system, and at least it USED TO allow politicians who were genuine leaders who cared about the country to get things done. Apparently there is just no hope of that happening now under either system.

From context I'd assume it's an app to show voting results and upcoming votes. Not voting by app

@@KityKatKiller Correct. Voting is done by division, they physically go to one side of the room and the tellers count them. Very old fashioned.
