Conserving Joshua Reynolds: The Master Portrait Painter

English Heritage cares for many paintings by Joshua Reynolds, one of the most celebrated artists in the history of British art. To understand more about Reynolds as an artist, and in time for his 300th birthday in 2023, we have been closely examining and treating two of Reynolds' paintings from the Kenwood collection in London. After watching Julian @BaumgartnerRestoration for so long, I feel like I know half the steps that went into the restoration of these gorgeous paintings already. It's always lovely to know that these snapshots of history will be preserved for generations to come.
