I had this done a little over a year ago. I had 3 days of discomfort, a small amount of blood and frequency and painful urination. After 3 days I was fine. I would say I have had about a 60 percent improvement consistantly since the implants were done. Its not perfect, but I am happy with the results so far.

I had this done in a doc. office in Pinehurst NC. Pinehurst Surgical just a few months ago. It was the most painful procedure I have ever had done. Pain was not managed properly during procedure. Had to have catheter placed before I left the doc. office that day because I was unable to pee. Doc. never said one word to me the day of procedure. Not before , during or after procedure. I was put on pain meds right away because the pain was unbearable. Two days later catheter was removed at doc. office. That afternoon my bladder filled because of blockage and had to go to emergency room. I urinated all over myself going to and during the ER trip. Bladder full was more painful than the procedure itself. The doc that did the procedure could not be contacted by ER doctor or myself when I made the ER trip, we tried several times. I have since healed but am in the process of getting new prostate doc. I will never go to Pinehurst Surgical again. Don't know how long this procedure will last in terms of urination but I hope its a long time. Don't want to go through that again. Select your doctor carefully. Only use doctors that urolift recognize as the best at what they do. They have a process for that. Talk to them about doc. choice and only use the best one. Good luck, you will need it.

My husband had a urolift procedure in 2017. Now encrustation occurred when minerals from the urine deposit on the surface of the indwelling urolift implant. On 3/30/22, he had a cystolitholapaxy procedure to remove the "stone" encrusted on one of the implants. At the follow up visit, the urologist told us that only 50% of the "stone" was removed and my husband have to undergo another cystolitholapaxy procedure to remove the remaining "stone". My husband has low pain threshold, it was exhausting to take care of him postoperatively. He took Norco before bedtime, due to the constant irritation after the procedure. Then the narcotic induced sleep apnea happened, his pulse ox dropped to 88% at one point. It was a sleepless night for me. In my opinion , I do not recommend urolift procedure, it is a good quick fix but does it worth to go through the potential pain and sufferings in the future? Will my husband benefit from the PAE procedure now? What could happen to the remains urolift implant?

Thank you for your honesty! I had PAE over two months ago. That and meds did nothing for me.! I’m thinking maybe urolift now. All the other stuff is more invasive!!!! But maybe works better? All the doctors push what they do!!!!! How they make there money!! Which seems to matter eay more than what’s b st for there patient!!!!! And the midlevels are better with knowledge and compassion maybe because most are women?! Midl vels in medicine are nurse practitioner and P.A. Physician Assistant.

Thanks for the presentation. 70-80% success rate - wish it were higher. I also read the comments of patients. I'm checking other procedures without implants.

Urolift completely and permanently destroyed my life !!!! Now I am faced with my new urologist wanting to do another surgery (greenlight) to correct to the botched UROLIFT procedure. I am told I would have to self catheterize everyday possible for the rest of my life. My symptoms now are WORSE than before Urolift. Please be advised and don't say I didn't warn you if you get this procedure !!!!!

Lasted all of 3 months, and only was good for two days immediately following the procedure. Please read up on ACTUAL patients results, not these Urologists needing luxury car payments. Did I mention that my urologist FORGOT that I was at the treatment center the day of the procedure? He got there three hours after the scheduled lift - I was prepped with IV and waiting.

richrocketlll, I live in your area and totally agree and sympathize with you on anything pinehurst. I rather travel to duke then to the so called specialist at moore regional. They hide behind the title "I studied at Duke". Then why are they not still there? Money money money in a practice then being the best in their field at duke.

I went to a different Urologist, he also had the Urolift procedure, he is medicating with Tadilifil, the same as I am! He said he is looking into PAE. MY IMPLANT DISCOMFORT LASTED 6 MONTHS! You next to have a Urolift staple and see how it really feels!

I had the procedure done a year ago, no big deal. The night of was some discomfort peeing but I can pee now. I am having to “retrain” my bladder however. Sometimes I feel the need to pee but I can hold it. Now, the flow volume is not that great. Has to be weak muscles.

Yes I had the procedure 3 years ago and It was one of the WORST decision I have ever made. I regret it. I am now suffering the consequences because the #Urolift procedure has made my condition worse than it was before.

Based on the comments here plus those in a BPH Facebook group, I think Urolift is a procedure that requires a lot of skill to perform successfully. It seems that many patients are not properly evaluated to determine if they are good candidates, and/or urologists don't have the necessary expertise. Even when successful the benefits apparently only last a few years and then the patient is looking at another procedure. I won't be considering it.

I had a Urolift about a year ago. I peed blood and clots for 2 weeks. Also, I went home after the procedure without a catheter and had to go to a hospital emergency room that night to get one installed because I could not pee at all. Extremely painful not to be able to pee. Once healed it helped some....but after a year I am looking for what to do next because it is as about the same as before anything was done....
