I had my PAE three weeks ago. I’m already experiencing a huge improvement in all of my BPH symptoms. The procedure itself is easy and painless. However, the first 48 hours after the procedure was really rough for me. A lot of pain and very, very frequent urination. Those unpleasant symptoms gradually improved during the first week or so. Now I’m feeling great. Sleeping through the night and peeing like 30 years ago.

I had this procedure ( PAE) done 4 days ago by one of Sandeep Bagla's colleagues. Sandeep I believe was also monitoring. It was virtually pain free, just a tiny pinch when entering the artery. It was great relaxation from the Valium and twilight- IV for the 1-hour procedure. Next day I felt nothing, everything was as normal. 3rd day I felt some pressure around my Perenium and was urinating frequently. 4th day all that subsided and now everything feels normal again. The PAE procedure is truly nothing to worry about guys

Had to have a meatotomy which helped just a little as I spray when urinating now. Being afraid of having more surgery into my penis this PAE sounds really good. Hi, I had PAE done in Sydney Au last October 2021. I ended up with ischemia of the rectum which was the most debilitating thing I’ve ever experienced. It lasted for over four months until it came right. As for my prostate problems the PAE did the job. My radiologist failed to explain to me about my rather large 250cc prostate could cause extra problems. But I’d recommend PAE to all.

My husband had a urolift procedure in 2017. Now encrustation occurred when minerals from the urine deposit on the surface of the indwelling urolift implant. On 3/30/22, he had a cystolitholapaxy procedure to remove the "stone" encrusted on one of the implants. At the follow up visit, the urologist told us that only 50% of the "stone" was removed and my husband have to undergo another cystolitholapaxy procedure to remove the remaining "stone". My husband has low pain threshold, it was exhausting to take care of him postoperatively. He took Norco before bedtime, due to the constant irritation after the procedure. Then the narcotic induced sleep apnea happened, his pulse ox dropped to 88% at one point. It was a sleepless night for me. In my opinion , I do not recommend urolift procedure, it is a good quick fix but does it worth to go through the potential pain and sufferings in the future? Will my husband benefit from the PAE procedure now? What could happen to the remains urolift implant?

I had a PAE two days ago. My perspective; The most painful part - and it's really not - is the needle in the arm to provide any meds that might be needed. I found that the most difficult part was having to lie motionless for a couple hours. I got an itchy nose, an itchy eye, etc. Nurse had to keep scratching them for me! Also my penis got in an awkward position that I so badly wanted to fix and couldn't and certainly wasn't going to ask the nurse for help with that. The procedure itself is nothing. The second biggest issue I had was having to lie still for another two hours after the procedure to make sure nothing got knocked out of position I guess. The worst part was that I got serious rectal pain that night. Fortunately I had on hand some opioids that helped with that. By morning, I was no longer in pain. Only other thing was mild discomfort in my abdomen.

I had this done in September 2023. The procedure was painless, I did feel like I had a goose up my bum the afternoon of the procedure, which lasted for about three or four hours, I took some Motrin, and that was the end of it. I never required any peridium, but I did take the antibiotics and the steroid pack They gave me which I’m sure made a difference. three or four months later I can say that it’s definitely helped and effective. What if I’m fascinating is that the outpatient procedure with no anesthesiologist built my insurance $24,700 for a two hour procedure. That seems pretty crazy to me.
@generalaccount5763 жыл бұрын
My current Urologist is not "pro PAE". He believes the procedure is too new, poses unnecessary risk, and there isn't enough data to support this as an option. As a result, I had a Urolift procedure which did help my urinary retention, did nothing to treat my prostate size (73cc). Although I disagree based on my own research, I'm wondering if PAE would still be of benefit after my Urolift?

I would like for this guy to be MY doctor..and that speaks VOLUMES... The one thing he needed to explain is that the REASON why PAE could fail in 5-10 years is because 5 years after the procedure, NEW blood vessels grow back to the prostate to replace the ones that died or no longer work. Does this happen in everybody?.. My doc says yes, but again- when you look at the other procedures that REMOVE tissue from the pee channel inside the prostate., those tissues that were removed during turp, for example WILL grow back in 5-10 years as well. So NO precedure is foolproof for say 20 years..

In interventional radiology the procedure are super selective, meaning we try to go to the most distal artery we could to not cause any non-targeted embolization. However given the one direction of the arterial blood flow its not possible for the embolic material to dislodge.
