Current gaming scene reminds me of what went on in the early 80's. Less exclusives,games staryed going everywhere when they once wrte exclusive. Atari and Intellivsion games started appearing on computers,Intellevision ported their games to Atari and Commodore systems. 3rd party games started appearing on a ton of devices like Atari,Intellevision Commodore 64,Colecovision,Atari computers Apple computers,it became a wide playing field where releasrs stopped being exclusive. Developmentb Costs grew more expensive back then just as they are todsy,now were seeing the same happening,Playstation and XBox appearing on other devices,much less 3rd paryy exclusives now too,same thing happened in 1982 and 83. The one thing thats worriesome is the crash of 1983 that killed gaming in North America for a few years,because too many mediocer games released at high levels just killed the market. Today were seeing lots of games that need constant patching,thryre not finished,lots of nediocer games filling the market,people buying less because its happening as it did in the early 80's,gamers are cautious about purchasing both yhen and now. I think eventually playstation and XBox will relwase all their games across handelds,PCs,Cloud,Nintendo platforms,and smart tvs. Im not so sure what Nintendo will do because they dont ever play with a standard formula,they do things their own way and keep things locked down. I just hope we always will have hardware for our games. Not streaming but real dedicated hardware. Maybe both Sony and Microdoft will follow tge rumor that were hearing now,about an XBox handheld being made by 3rd party ha4dware companies? Future XBox and Playstation hardware made by someone else? It would lessen the burden of loosibg money on hardware if say 3 or 4 companies make the hardware and get a small percentage of games sales to cover their costs. Or maybe theyll develop a few studios and release a few games exclusively on thrir hardware. Like an LG making a fun f8ghter,Samsung making a great racer,TCL grabbing an timed Sega exclusive and releasing it with their Sony and XBox hardware. It could get pretty crazy in the next 5 to 10 years.
