After years of watching Constanine i have to say, that the cast and the acting is one of the best i have ever seen. You may forget the plot, you may forget the Action scenes. But you will always remember Reeves as Constanin, Swinton as Gabriel and Stormare as Lucifer and the scene between those three!!

I have watched so many movies and Ms. Swinton as an actress leaves me slightly disturbed, in a good way, with each of her performances. She is extremely intense. She gives the proverbial 110% of her talent in every frame. Right now I am watching a movie titled, "Burn After Reading". There is a scene where Ms. Swinton is lying is bed talking to George Clooney who is next to her. As she speaks to Mr. Clooney the muscles above her collar bone is moving in sync with each word. Add that to her intense gaze, as always, an excellent performance. Bravo Ms. Swinton, and, thank you.

He/She despises humanity in general and not just John. Sent down to earth for that reason alone. By the end of the film gabriel is turned into a human, who will probably lose his insight or just go insane. So ironically, she became the very thing that she used to despise for weakness and disbelive.

It has gained a following in the years since release. I think a big part of its initial failure was the fact that it bears almost no resemblance to its source material which disappointed a lot of fans but I think it's successful on its own merits and I'm glad it's finally getting a sequel

Then John decided to kill himself to end his mental anguish, and God sends him to hell for committing suicide lmao. Really didn’t leave John with many options.

Actually, in the movie, Gabriel is a half-breed. In the Constantine universe half-breeds are defined as angels and demons that can exist on the Earth plane and influence mortals. They take on mortal form in order to do so. Balthazar (Gavin Rossdale) is also a half-breed.

Honestly the fact he's aloud to smoke in this and isn't on any of those CW shows or the one slow season...like yes that actor does the role way more closely but...the actual content is pretty weak. This movie hit all the right spots with it's storytelling and atmosphere and never let up, should've gotten a direct sequel not legends of tomorrow silliness or that weak show of a failure.

As much as I love this movie, and I DO love this movie, I simply can't get over the Catholic believe, which the comic bases its lore from, that mentally ill people deserve to suffer for all eternity because of suicide.
