Tuomas' lyrics + Tarja's voice = a recipe for extreme feels

That's the key for solving the problem old vs new NW. There's no need for arguing when you see the truth - some things are just unique like Tuomas & Tarja.

Surely it's "understand the meaning of "their pride", rather than 'the right'" - pride was the sin of the angels that fell.
@sorsocksfake5 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. Not according to the website. Not sure if the original booklet had lyrics. But even if it wasn't and lyrics got forgotten and changed, "rite" would be more likely. The song isn't about the religoius fall of the angels. It's about good people dying before us. The lines before it say 'heaven is no comfort; religious teachings don't give it meaning'. I could imagine the third line being 'funeral rites don't mean anything'. But "right" also has many meanings that could apply.

@Aetheraena I mean when she sings it in "The Carpenter" :D
i don't really like the vocals ... its not really my style, but the lyrics are powerful, and the rest is just amazing, i love that intro. i think a raspy, lower voice would go well with this song a little better but idk its my first time hearing this, i'll check the rest out too

I love Tarja but her singing in this is overdone. This is from their first album so I can forgive them. If she just stopped projecting so much and went with a more intimate/quiet voice it would work well too (for some parts). Listen to Dead Boy's Poem and then to this. Doesn't change the fact that I love this.
