Very interesting lecture. In the typical style of the presenter, the scope of the study is much broader than concentrating on the artist alone. The description and the interpretation of the paintings is interwoven with historical facts about Grunewald and his contemporaries, churches’ patrons, artistic styles and techniques, as well as the lives of the saints depicted on the altars. Edifying and amusing at the same time. Thank you!
