Go Niners! It's interesting to me that you'd pick gamers given all the $ you spend on archery gear. I've got a 30.5 draw length, and I want as straight of an arrow as I can get since I can't cut much off. Used so many vanes over the years but I like the way the Groff X 3.0, and the Bronco vanes stick, fly, and are quiet.

Tim .. love the vids . I have a challenge for you. Its something I am really testing. Compare the cheaper arrows to mid and higher priced arrows. Build a cheaper hunting arrow from different brands and compare them to mid priced or more expensive hunting arrows. Where is the benefit of paying for more expensive arrows. Is there a real benefit????

1. Was really hoping the lions took it, had them going all the way in my bracket. 2. The shorter white vanes looked like they flew better to me, visibly though the pink was easier to see. Great video as always. I have one more hunt here in about 3 weeks, javelina archery tag in AZ, then onto 3d season and possibly making some tweaks with my current arrow setup.

I like the small mass of the mini saber and the arrow flight with field tips on Black Eagle X-Impacts. I have some SK-2.5s in the way in phosphorescent green I’m stoked to try as well. I shoot the Iron Will single bevels, so I’m curious if either will steer well at range. Your arrow flight looked good, I couldn’t see parachuting towards the end of flight.

Just curious did you go with the 250s because you got a 125 up front instead of a 100, even though you drop 20 grains from the insert have you tried a 300 arrow or will it not be stiff enough for 70 lb. Thanks keep up the good work man
@TimConnor13

No it’s because the difference in gpi is negligible, .1, and Mfjj always says if it’s close go to the stiffer spine

you had one really wonky white fletched shot, but the second one was perfect. I think the difference between the two in flight was negligible, but the difference in arrow drop is something to consider.

I did an arrow clocking experiment in my basement the other day. Right out of the bow the bare-shaft arrow spun to the left (target was about 3 feet away). But then I tested a 3 deg right helical arrow and by 6 feet from the target the fletched arrow had already started spinning back to the right. Both were shot with field points, so certainly a broadhead could change that and cause it to take longer to stabilize. I would be interested in trying a left-helical more, but at least in that little experiment it didn't seem like it took long for the fletching to start spinning the arrow back to the right.
@WendellAbigania

Awesome upload as always. Josh’s 30grain inserts are built tough. The option to use the 15grain collars gives you the flexibility to use 100 or 125 grain broadheads and the use of lighted nocks, while still having arrows around the same weight +/- 5grains. Best insert system so far.

Haha…So. I’ve always shot axis arrows and committed myself to trying something different this offseason. Last night, I finally nailed down what I wanted to try and I decided to try the RIP TKO gamers. Was still trying to figure out what I’m going to put up front but I think you just helped me decide 🤣 I also was going to run the max stealths but I’ve been interested in the DCA vanes. I’m a fixed BH guy so I might go with taller vanes. How sure is MFJJ that the originals DCA’s will steer a fixed BH well? Also,what’s the total weight on your arrow?
@WendellAbigania
@WendellAbigania Жыл бұрын
Max Stealths are solid vanes. I compared both Max Stealths and DCA mini sabres. 60+ yards with a 10-15mph cross wind, with field points, and the DCAs grouped tighter and closer to center than the Max Stealths. Arrow weight were negligible with only about 5-6grain difference. I’ll try with fixed broadheads and see how they group but I believe it wont make much of a difference.
@brentbandy3566
@brentbandy3566 Жыл бұрын
@@WendellAbigania Awesome! So you think the mini’s will group just as well with the standard sabres with a fixed BH up front? I like the stealths but I feel that the AAE HP’s or a blazer style vane seems to steer broad heads better than the stealths (I know, people rip on the blazer but man, it’s a tried and true vane 🤷🏼‍♂️). How much? It’s negligible. But I like the stealths because they are significantly quieter than the HP’s or a blazer.

The difference in height is attributed To more than just the three grains of weight. The larger veins will also create more drag slowing the arrow down more causing it to hit lower in combination with the added weight
@BlueWidow2010
@BlueWidow2010 Жыл бұрын
I think the DCA full size vanes rob trajectory. You should test different vanes at different yards to see if the vane drag robs trajectory. That way I will know if it was just me and not the vanes. My Bowtech CP28 clocked right. My son's Bowtech Realm SS clocked right and so did my Realm.

Could a not as straight shaft make it difficult to tune with? Even if it’s not on a hooter it’d be interesting to see. Every time I buy a dozen uhm and ohhh on do I need the straightness.

I dont want to risk a broadhead coming loose,especially when it doesnt effect arrow flight if you do fletch the opposite of your arrrow clock. Also ive had arrows clock both directions out of the same bow ,same string.
