I had a teacher like you in college,you explained correctly. The Jfet is a valve controlled by the Gate to Source voltage.

Thank you for the explanation and comparison to tap. I just learned about it today and my prof had like 3 different currents and voltages (V_GS, V_DS, V_GD, I_D, I_S, I_G) and I had no clue what any of them meant. Now I know the gate voltage controls the flow of current which is the current through the source and the drain current is the current that will flow into the JFET (I hope I got this interpretation right lol).

you explain every topic very nicely but here you made the working more complicated than BJT I learned BJT in 10 mins but it took me 30 mins for the working of JFET
