*Here is a Lifehack for your fogging problem:* You can just tape anti-moisture bags around the lens, also spray and clean it with WD40, so it won't fog ;) Thanks for explaining and doing so much nice vids! You're great!

3:03 it is so worth it to watch these tutorials and the way you just embedded this amazing timelapse of the Oslo city into it was stunning, breathtaking and beautiful, with the contrast in light

Very interesting to see as I experience(d) the same problems when shooting long day to night timelapses! Also had the problem that the dummy battery on an external powersource wasn't reliable. I think in my case the problem was because it was plugged in a powerbank with 2.1 amp 5 volt output, while the NP-FW50 battery puts out around 7,2 volts. Now I have a dummy battery on an DC port of 8,4 volts and it works flawlessly :)

Great work, went here on the Arcadia Cruise ship Christmas time and seen this building site, went to the ski slopes, can you do a time lapse from the slopes looking towards Oslo, thinking it would be a fantastic shot.

Awesome work and great vid. Can you detail your process any further? Stuff like exposure, how you deal with light changes thorougthout the day and stuff like that. Can't wait to see the next vid. Cheers

Must have missed this info somwhere, but how are you making sure both day and night are perfectly exposed? Do you change the shutter speed every sunset and sunrise, or put the camera on automatic or something? It’s one of the only things I can’t think a solution for

Great job, I feel this is a non sleeping moments depending on the camera to work with no control every single minute.

Wow amazing video! How did you set up the camera and did it overheat at any point? I have to shoot a 30 days timelaps (With a GoPro HERO 8 and a HERO 12) for a customer in 2.7k, 5minutes intervall with 3600 photos for a 4 minutes video. The storage for that are only 20GB, so is it possible to run the camera for 30 days, when using a cable to power it? Or does it shut down for overheating? Thank you for yout time! Regards, Lukas

Could it be the USB charger that didn't deliver enough amps? Looked like a small usb charger, one that only outputs 1 amp. Camera charging solution normally take 2.1 amps.

Thanks, for putting up this and sharing all your experience with us. I follow all your work here on KZbin. But there is something I was wondering about. What did you do to prevent camera shakes since the box is direcktly attached to the camera and at that top keeping in the mind the weather conditions it should have been windy. Greetings from Sweden :-)

Well done Morten, but there is no wi-fi on the sony? because you could have put the interval timer with an application on a phone didn't you?

Cool Tl. How many frames did you shoot each night when the lift shafts were being built, was it 1 frame a night for say 100 days?

I know it would take more power, but would a small fan inside the box help with heat and/or misting issues. Something like an old computer fan.

Would it be bad to have the dummy battery plugged straight in to the wall power? The one I use came with a supply that converts down 110v from the wall to 12v. I havent had any heat issues and two less connection points to fail.

Hey, could you share your settings for this timelapse? I'm wondering if a 1 minute interval and priority mode would be ok. I'm planning to shoot a construction timelapse, it will start in the morning and end mid-day / afternoon so the conditions should be fairly the same through a single day of shooting so maybe fixed aperture and let's say 1/30 shutter speed could work too? I would like to avoid flicker as much as possible to not deal with it in post production. Thank you!

i have a Logitech c615 and a crappy laptop to use with it but the video keeps lagging really bad. i also have a cheap trail cam with a plug that works decent and it shows good footage but only from so far away. Third, i have an old smartphone with a MicroSD card that i can get apps for. I build pools and would like to start making time lapse videos of the approximately month long process. do u have a suggestion for a phone app to use, as the computer lags too much and i dont think the trail cam works to capture a wide enough angle? any suggestions would be great, thanks

oh, then why did you choose that system? it seems weird to me that a timelapse photographer would choose it because of its low battery life, and that 999 limit..
@morten.rustad
@morten.rustad 7 жыл бұрын
Battery life or the 990 limit has never been a problem in regular time-lapse situations before this. And the image quality is superior.

if you gotta have that 8k then a d810 would make your life easier. I'm using a d610 and have no problem shooting a bunch of timelapses on one battery, no grip. I have one spare battery in the bag just in case, but never had to use it.
@morten.rustad
@morten.rustad 7 жыл бұрын
Like I said, battery life has never been an issue. And D810 is not 8K.
