Ano... Please spare me the "lack of opportunity" argument. I was born dirt poor, grew up dirt poor, lived dirt poor into my mid-twenties and scratched myself to the surface through years of trials and tribulations. When I was hungry I asked for food. When no food or money was available I went without until it was. When there wasn't enough money for electricity I sat in the dark. All of this I did to support myself while going to school on student loans, some high interest and some federally backed student loans. All the loans had to be paid back. All but approximately $350 on a federal student loan has been resolved already. And after years of struggle I attained not only my bachelors degree in corporate finance but also an International MBA (master's degree), all with hopes of changing my financial scenario in life some time in the future. I went without where I could sacrifice so I could enjoy a possibility of benefits later. At no point was I forced to steal for sustaining life. Opportunity is always present. It's simply a matter of whether or not we as individuals are willing to sacrifice what we have to offer for that which we want in exchange. I also want to correct my initial spelling mistake. My comment should say "thieves", not "thiefs".
