nice- and totally worth listening! In Summary, the 7 rules Steve talks of are: 1. Be Sure you're going somewhere. 2. Take responsibility. 3. Make decisions in face of ambiguity 4. Put the organization First 5. Be passionate about your company's business. 6. Become a student of communication. 7. Treat your staff as volunteers. though the particular example for "put the organization first" - in my opinion wasnt the best - where he talks of a captain cutting off a man overboard and leaves man to certain death so captain can focus on saving the ship. outside of the egalitarian volunteer-like organizations of top companies-- it is most common for organization men to let people who have dedicated themselves suffer rather than be rewarded-- and even in some of Steve's older books like rapid development he touches on the implicit pitfalls of such an approach. so, just my 2-bits.
