Researching for new RELIABLE refrigerator found that LG’s compressors die after 2 years! One person commented that LG was involved in two class action lawsuits regarding their refrigerators.The search continues.

LG is horrible, the compressor dies. I have been dealing with them for 2 months trying to get a technician and getting it finally replaced. Horrible experience with the whole company!!!

My repair guy recommended Whirlpool or GE. I had no choice because on long delivery time, had to get GE. AS I researched, I would have gotten the whirlpool. He also said the parts can be supplied in US, LG parts are overseas. Much harder to get. Good luck

Purchased a refrigerator 3 years ago and like a lot of people who were part of the class action lawsuit our refrigerator stopped working. 3 years? That is absolutely unacceptable. I cannot and will not ever recommend LG products.

LG has Great fridge "inside ideas" but really bad compressors - I have a 3 year old and we are now on our 2nd compressor. The whole process is a nightmare because it takes at least 3 weeks before you have a working fridge back again. I highly recommend purchasing really good camping cooler if you buy an LG - you will need them to store your food while you wait for repairs!

12 years in appliance repair and I have never seen an appliance fail as fast as an LG refrigerator. This guy is a liar or he is ignorant of the truth.

I was wondering about this…. Everything I have read suggest that LG fridges are terrible… they are using supposedly updated condensers now, but who knows if they are better

Not only do their fridges quit working their customer support is non-existent ours has been out of commission for a month and a half now and LG French door with this nice linear compressor that doesn't seem to work more than 3 years they keep promising to call back with a resolution and they never do there's not a repair person within 60 or 80 miles of Des Moines Iowa

I'm in the same boat. Every brand you research someone is saying to stay away from it. Going to pick something I like and keep it pushing because at this moment, I am going in circles.

According to Consumer Reports they evaluate the reliability record based on for five years time frame. .... if LG had class action lawsuit against them without this five years how is it even possible for CR to give most reliable brand status?... make no sense to me

@@isaiahgreenfield2037 The less complicate the better. None of refrigerators are going to last more than five years without repair. I would rather replace $850 refrigerator than started to fix the same capacity but more fancy one for $3500. Once they get the five years mark everything is starting to break. Buy $850 refrigerator without the ice maker and buy table top ice maker separately for $90 if you need it.

My parents bought an LG refrigerator in 2018. The ice maker failed a week after they bought it. Warranty replacement failed, compressor failed. They are trash.

@@jinsu0504 after arguing with LG for several hours, they replaced it. Then it failed a couple months later. After arguing it was replaced again. Then the compressor failed yet again. After arguing I told Dad just buy a new refrigerator.

Stay away from LG. Bad ice maker & compressor breaks down. Had my French door refrigerator only 5 years. Buying a new one now. Also, their parts are hard to get.

Complete kitchen set owned for 5 years and my experience is: replaced dishwasher racks after 2 years (city water) , replaced ice maker 4 times, replaced burner on stove, refrigerator is no longer keeping temperature and food has spoiled. Complete junk!

Good point. I am no longer buying 3500 dollars fridges. I would rather get one for 850 than 3500 with same capacity. Once it breaks in five years I just buy another one than starting to deal with fixing it. $850 with freezer on top without ice maker and buying table top ice maker for $70 on Amazon.... by the way extended warranty for five/seven years cost about $170 or so....

LG has really does have bad compressors. We are now waiting for yet another compressor. We are using a Yeti cooler. We are going into our second month of this adventure of hauling ice from the store everyday.

Craft ice is a GIMMICK, it can only make a few at a time..I mean a very few...3 a DAY!!!! LOLOLOL

Im an appliance repair man. From my experience, the only good things LG makes are TV's and front load washer and dryers. Out of everything they make, their fridges are the worst

I would never recomend buying LG appliances, i bought the range,, , the refrigerator te microwave, and the dishwasher,,,, they have all crashed,, it started with the range,, the the microwave and finally the fridge. I spent almost $10.000 on this junk. nothing work,,, it all junk,,, save your money and buy anther brand

LG is the worst fridge. Why are people buying these and doing videos on them. The Linear Compressors are junk. Junk. 3 years and compressor is done. Repair guy, not fixable. Complete Junk!! Cost me lots of money in food. LG should be held accountable for know Linear Compressors do not work! Do not buy!
